I think we are going to see a repeat of 2015.

Except instead of everyone fighting in the playoffs for the right to get throttled in the title game by the Ramblers.... this year everyone will be fighting in the playoffs for the right to get throttled by Beast in the title game.

or could it be like '11?

Wasn’t that the year Bolingbrook was running roughshod over everyone! Man that was one damn good team!! They had some tight games vs NC and the title game was good against Loyola - so not quite as dominant as that 2015 Loyola team but still an undefeated state champion!!

kind of... lost to LWE, had competitive games with Sandburg, H-F (kind of), NV, MC, NC...

Everyone was waiting for the Maine South/Loyola matchup (in the semis I think), but once MS was upset in rd 2 Loyola became the heavy favorites. I guess if there's one thing to take from this is that the favorite has rarely won 8A going back to 2009.

The beast is the real deal this year. Quite frankly, I don't see anyone beating them but you never know maybe the Brook in the last game of the regular season?

I forgot/didn’t know that Brook lost a game that season. I remember NC game them a tough game and the title game was fun to watch.

7A has Naz, Batavia, ESL, MC....it’s a tough class

After those 4 there is a huge huge huge drop off.

I look at it as how easy or hard is it to make the quarters and semifinals.

In 7A it is not super hard to make the quarters. Once there though it gets super tough.

An Example is Benets run last year.
Round 1 - Maine West - blowout
Round 2 - Rockton Honoengbah - blowout
And wallla - quarterfinal appearance.

In 8A I personally believe it is a lot harder to make the quarters. My perception. Anyways.

I agree that in 2018 - the top 4 in 7A are every bit as tough as the top 4 in 8A. But I think the path to the reach the semis is easier in 7A than in 8A in 2018 and also last year, and in most years.

I seem to a recall a Rice team that was 8-1 and had a cupcake in Fremd in round 1. Not sure that turned out too good.

Playoffs start in 4 weeks. Lots of snaps before then.

Hopefully his parents have the $$$$$ to send him there.
I wouldn’t be put off by the sticker price of a school like ND if you can get in.
Schools like that have plenty of academic money available that they will use to get the final cost down to a comfortable level for the parents.

These players are still teenagers. Anything can distract them, anything can happen....and the weather is changing! People didn’t like the MC veer, but on a cold windy November afternoon or night, it was an advantage.

We will discuss on another thread later this week but what you thinking about MC/PC?

As always best bet is to make a team one dimensional. You still have to score. If the weather is so bad that it forces LWE to go to a ground game then you're one dimensional too. And the East defense is probably more vulnerable through the air.

There are some good teams there but 1-32 8A is much better, as 7A is over 6A and so on. The disparity in enrollments are huge in 8A. All 8A teams have rosters of 40-50 players and few players going both ways. When you get to teams where a good numbers of players going both ways you see the difference.

We'll see how good Naz is when they play Marist.

MC defense is legit, comparable to BR. 47 points let up in 6 games. Special team kick returners are amazing. Offense really starting to click, they spread it around more then I’ve ever seen so you can’t key on one player. Common opponent is Hope who MC beat 42-7. I think MC by 2 or 3 scores. But you never know!

I’m thinking MC by 14. PC running game returned after a 2 game hiatus. PC D still solid against the run unless you have a “sandlot” QB who runs every play or throws long to whoever is open LOL. That’s how Hope scored 42 points against Provi - sandlot football. PC season summary so far, we run successfully we win big. We can’t run successfully then we win by a thread or lose by a thread. I’d like to see PC throw more but QB2 still struggling to get in groove. PC historically plays MC tough but that was in Lenti era. Now it’s a new era under JL. This is the only game I don’t root for MC. I still have brown and white in my blood!

I remember in 2005 LWE playing BR. Raining windy and the weather totally sucked but Kropp passed all over the place. Rain/wind wasn’t a factor for East. BR had a hard time holding on to the ball. You never know but both teams play in the same weather so my money is still staying with East.
