Rich had formerly been Robert Earl Keen’s lead guitarist for years…

Terrible news. He was/is a helluva guitar player. I had the privilege of having a short conversation with him after a concert once and he took a photo with me. He was a really nice guy to a random fan.

Dang that stinks he is one heck a picker. A REK show hasn't been the same since they split ways.

In 2007 a group of us went to Birmingham for a REK show. After the show we were waiting outside for a friend to find his cellphone in the bar. I look down the street and Rich was walking towards us. We holler at him, he was honestly surprised we knew his name and bums a cig. He was a really chill guy and gave me few guitar picks.

Is ALS becoming a more prevalent disease. It seems like it has an uptick in cases.

Seems so, but I’ve also saw where sometimes it’s rly Lyme that is misdiagnosed. If myself or anyone close is ever ‘diagnosed’ w/ALS, I’ll be digging like a mad man to prove otherwise, that’s a terrible end-of-life scenario. See link on Dr. Martz

My Dad died of ALS. I had him sent to have hyperbaric treatment coupled with stem cell therapy. They took him to a certain pressure in the chamber to rule out Lyme disease. It helped, but ALS is a stone cold heartless killer. I don’t wish ALS on my worst enemy.
