Richmond loses former player and former equipment manager

Richmond lost former Clemson and Seatle football player Doug Thomas to a heart attack at age 45. On story I read said he had recently been coaching in Charlotte. I don't know which school.
We also lost former equipment manager Doug Gardner. He served the Raiders for many years. I am attaching a link to an article about them.

Was it Gardner or Garner? I think the newspaper got it wrong.

If it's in Charlotte, then it's Garner. We don't have a Gardner in anything.

the one in charlotte is thomas he was a football coach somewhere in charlotte.

and garner is the one that was a football manager for richmond raiders.
