his basketball team like a football coach that only has a 12 game season. He never has his his team ready to play like alot of these smaller, weaker teams that beat our asses at the start of the season. It's ashame the women's team just got ranked this week in the polls for the first time in 6 years & our men's ( boys) team got knocked out of the polls. Barry Stewert needs to get a sack too or sit the dam'n bench.

Stans has done a great job overall at MSU, but he never really has a team ready to play at the start of the season. I know it takes time to get everyone working on the same page and doing the same thing, but it's not like our opponents have had any more time than we have to work on those things.

should have come out running, gunning, and playing defense like a poised, experienced team should. There is not an excuse big enough or just enough to cover that loss. They played with no emotion, no energy, and are still baffled by a (17ing) zone defense. No one on this board can defend the lack of effort or coaching that took place last Friday. I am still pissed if you can't tell.

it was the FIRST damn home game of the year. who doesn't get fired up for that? instead we get beaten badly by a nobody.

i just wonder how much effect all of this Sidney crap has had on the team. they have a guy practicing with them who will likely take a lot of minutes from other players if he gets cleared. plus said guy appears to be an ******* and he is very clear that he is one and done. that can't be good for a team. i agree with the argument that it is good to have your players practice with people who are better than them because it makes them work harder. but in the scenario where a girl's team plays with the guys, there is no chance that the guys could take their spot later in the year. we obviously need to focus on the guys who are cleared now instead of playing this wait and see crap.

And I'm not so sure that the two aren't influencing each other (i.e. Kodi being pissed that Sidney was brought in at his position). But poor early season performances aren't anything new for Stans's teams. It just seems to me that we have too many players on this team who are only looking out for #1 and aren't interested in making the team better.</p>

the two situations are influencing each other. kodi bitching about playing time after one game is not really a big surprise if you consider that he knows he will sit a lot if sidney is cleared.

and you are right, this is nothing new.

That's why MSU will never reach the Sweet 16 with Stansbury. Teams ratchet their emotions for the March Madness. Not MSU.

That's why MSU reached the 1996 Final Four with Richard Williams ...

...but it was at least debatable then. This year, it doesn't fly at all. These guys have been playing together. This team is amost completely intact from last year. If they are not on the same page as you say, you gotta start looking Stansbury's way.

No team is going to be playing at 100% of it's capability very early in the season. It does take time to bring everything together. But the fact is, ALL TEAMS HAVE THE SAME AMOUNT OF TIME AVAILABLE. Rider didn't have any more time to get ready for Friday's game than we did and nobody we've ever lost to early in the season that we shouldn't have lost to did either. The last thing I meant by that statement was for it to be an excuse for losing.
