Every child he has sired should have "Scott" as a middle name. Damn.

Bless his heart. He'll still make someone a decent assistant. I hope he socked away most of his HC salary.

Bad enough that we gave him a HC job. But its really hard to believe someone actually gave him another HC job after his stint at MSU.

They have a basketball forum with the dozen SEMO basketball fans debating whether he should stay or go. Unbelievably there are a couple ok with him coming back. They mention wanting to just make the tournament again... the Ohio Valley Conference tournament.

This is painful...

"This is Rick Ray's 8th season as a head coach, he has never won 16 games in a year."

Ouch. I don't even know why they bother to field a team if they're not going to care any more than that.

Yeah, I know. Scott put us on 3 year probation when he forced Stansbury out. The best teams A&M has had probably this decade were all built by Stansbury. Western KY just doesn’t have the resources many of the other mid-majors have apparently.***

That’s the equivalent of a surgeon who has 40% of his patients die on the operating table every year, yet the hospital keeps renewing his contract.

The probation was hiring Ray, but yea, had we known what we were going to get I would think 99% of MSU fans would have said to just keep Stans.

There are two types of coaches. Those who have been fired and those who are going to be fired.

I’ve discovered that when the best thing someone can say about your coaching career is “I like him as a person” or “he’s a nice guy”, then you’re probably not a very good coach. There are nice guys that are good coaches, but that’s just a side note to their success.

The 2012 basketball coaching search was the worst thing handled by MSU Athletics this generation. I have no idea what Stricklin was thinking.

He’s not done bad at WKU. Second place in C-USA this season. Got a good chance to win the tourney and get the auto bid.

He was genuinely a nice guy. He was very fun to interview when we did This Is Our Show.

I can’t get the other 2/3 of This Is Our Show to do it. He’s too much of a celebrity.

I hate this hire so much. This was even worse then Croom. We were actually in a fine place as a program prior, and Stricklin decided to kill our men’s basketball program for no reason. Nothing has been the same since.

Never met him, but he's one of my favorite failures as a coach we've ever had. I hate he didn't succeed at SEMO and wish him the best.

Yeah. Really nice guy, but maybe the worst possible hire we could have made.

I met him on a Road Dawgs tour one year, and I believe he’s genuinely nice guy. He asked me a bunch of questions and seemed interested in my responses. It didn’t seem like it was a pain for him to be there.

He saw a friend of mine wearing a MSU shirt in the Atlanta airport and sat down beside him and struck up a conversation

He was a good dude, who I believe tried hard. It just didn’t work out. I wish him the best.

Way to late for that because his best is in the rear view mirror. He’ll never have a better job than he had at MSU.

Rick Ray made 4 million plus from Mississippi State. In that regard, he is fine. And he will be picked up as an assistant by someone.
