the other three, Ellis, Outlaw and Bender do not help your argument. All three of those players never played a second of basketball for MSU and actually hurt us that following year or what would of been their freshman season by leaving us hanging in the dust. All that time, money and effort wasted on no return and hurting our depth for the next season without that roster spot being adequately filled by a decent player that would of contributed depth at the bare minimum. I'd love to have Newman but we don't have a successful track record with top 5 overall recruits. You can't dispute that. Wasting all our time chasing stars and not filling needed open roster spots with decent players that will help us right away is a mistake. Y'all losing your wad over 24/7 saying there's a "chance" is ridiculous.

Recruiting never changes. The lottery tickets never pick MSU boys. In any sport. We don't get the greatest football player and we don't get the greatest basketball player in the country. Ever. Never ever ever. Stop the cycle of getting MSU fans excited for the chance that we might just get this one this time. Nope. We aint. And I'm also not winning the Powerball this Saturday. You aren't either.

We may eventually a long time from now be able to sign #1 players in the nation but we are skipping about 700 steps right now. How about just a 40% 3 point shooting transfer or juco that can play for us this season? I think that is a much more realistic goal and very attainable one for any SEC basketball program right?

He could lose ever single game by 40 and only have 6 basketball players and you would sing his praisers all damn day. Since 2007 Stansbury signed 5 top 100 players or 5 for 500. Since 2012 Ray has signed 0 top 100 players or 0 for 300 going on 0 for 400. But yea get all excited for a recruiting website that's obviously a business trying to add memberships in Mississippi. If even one person signed up since they did that with Newman it was successful. Meanwhile we won't add a player that can help us this year and Ray will strike out with Newman and we will be 0 for 400 under Rick Ray for signing any players in the top 100 since he took over. Ray is DA BEST!!!!1!!

Hahaha again what am I wrong about? Only top 10 overall basketball player to ever sign out of HS and play a minute of basketball for MSU in the last 15 years was/is Renardo Sidney. He really worked out great for us. Ellis, Outlaw and Bender hurt us. and they were a decade and longer ago and under a different coach. What the 17 am I lying about? Good gawd dude. You are too much. Ugh Chris Jones isn't the point of this topic but fine. Chris is a fantastic football player and I am very grateful he plays for MSU. He was ranked #24 on Scout. Better? I really don't feel like looking up all 10 different recruiting websites to find the one he is the highest ranked in since the point of this thread is about basketball not football and Dan Mullen who I am very pleased with. Dan knows what the 17 he is doing. He belongs and deserves to be an SEC head coach.

Since you seem to be the expert on how much time he's spent recruiting Malik, how about if you quantify that with actual days, hours, minutes or you're preferred time frame. Also compare that to the number of actual days, hours minutes or preferred time to other recruits. Pretty sure you can't, of course you could make up some time frames to justify you're comments and make 61 feel even more kiddy, but doubtful anyone would believe you. But hell go ahead and try.

If you meant lottery tickets in teh sense of 'highly rated recruit', then you've already been given numerous instances where you were wrong. Gary ervin, Vernon Goodridge, Dontae Jones, Renardo Sidney, Chris Jones, Donta Walker, Quay Evans, etc. were all highly rated and played for MSU.

Gary ervin 36th rated player overall, Vernon Goodridge 38th rated player overall, Dontae Jones recruiting websites didn't exist in 1993, Renardo Sidney 7th rated player overall, Chris Jones 24th rated player overall, Donta Walker 1999 too early for recruiting websites, Quay Evans 24th rated player overall, etc. were all highly rated and played for MSU.

Rick Ray isn't getting a top 5 overall recruit. He can't even land a top 100 recruit in what will be his 4th class. 0 for 400 come NSD. Still have an open spot for this year. Nah C34 wanted Stansbury gone no matter what. Ray still has time with me. Not much though. If he'd show me he wants to win as bad as I want to than I'd get his back. He hasn't shown me that though. I shouldn't want to win more than the HC. Nobody should want to win more than the HC. Until he refuses to lose on the court and with recruiting though we will continue to be a bottom feeder. MSU is a tremendous University in a tremendous league. There is absolutely no reason that Ray shouldn't be able to pull in 2-3 top 200 players every year. That is half the battle. If he just does that for 3-4 years in a row and surrounds himself with assistants that can develop the players we will be in the NCAA tournament every year. Each day that we stay here is another day gone till we get to there. And those of you that are satisfied with here are just a crutch for failure. Don't like me? I don't care. I don't concern myself with those that put up with being a loser.

Absolutely amazing that ket7450 is still allowed to post over here. Just simply look at his posting history. Look how many threads he's been a part of getting locked. Look at how many of his 143 total posts are trolling MSU fans. Look at the gaps in between his trolls. He trolls than disappears for a month and then trolls and gets threads locked.
