You pretty much just answered your own question.

The best part is I showed this to another Dad while waiting at a kids practice tonight. His exact words "That's really cool, but you know some of our fans will freak out and claim they are breaking rules". Amazing. And no, judging by Twitter responses you are not alone. Alot of other fans are concerned with turning Riley in over giving him and the team props.

It's considered an official team activity. As long as the entire team is included (no preferential treatment), and the athletic department did not get the tickets for free/discount, it's perfectly legal.
Its great for the team and morale like I posted and thank you for clarifying how this works and not being a Richard about it.

Most of the twitter responses are positive but... always one douche nozzle who has to put a negative spin on a cool gesture by the coach to reward the team or a tough fall camp....What a tool.

B1G west champs? Bowl win? Beat Iowa? Preseason top 25? Ohh. Went to practice. Got it.

Hell of a morale boost ...how is it legal?
Back when the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act was passed this board got real ugly with politics. The exasperated moderators used a good combination of carrot and stick to get everybody to stop, which we did and the board went back to being a fairly nice place. If you continue to use that avatar, I guess we are all going to pick it back up, which will be unfortunate.

I have just one question...who the hell is Kendrick Lamar?

Edit - Never mind. I just listened to a couple of his songs. Not my cup of tea, but I'm sure younger kids will enjoy it.
