Will play. Take your best guesses. I'll say Lamar Jackson, Tre Bryant, Caleb Lightbourn, Derrion Grimm, Dismuke and or Farniok.

Good....the more freshmen that play the better for the program in the long term....or as early as late in the season.

Jackson, Dismuke, Grim, Lightbourn, Jefferson, Domann, Bryant are my guesses. I know, that's seven.

I can't imagine Farniok is ready, physically or mentally, to play this year. Raridon is my choice if a TF plays OL this season.

POB is my wild card, just because the position is such a hot topic. :)

I had a guy tell me Raridon actually grew taller and he should move to tackle since he's as tall as some and very talented-- I'd like to see him get a chance at right tackle.

I'll go with Jackson, Lightbourn, Grimm, Bryant, Dismuke, and maybe Alexander.

I would think Lightbourn and Jackson would be the most likely to play based on needs/depth at their positions, and physical maturity from what I've read (apparently Jackson and Alexander showed up already looking the part).

Maybe I'm making silly assumptions, but coaches don't mention punters or kickers in the same breath as position players. While expect Lightbourn to play, I don't believe Coach Riley was including him as one of the "5 or 6."

And he also said they identified those players this summer. Not to sound morbid, but they clearly weren't anticipating a need for Lightbourn in 2016 prior to last Saturday.

Quayshon, LJax, & Grim for sure

Agree, didn't get to see that great of pictures, but the freshman o-line looks like they are going to need a little bit more time in the weight room before they are ready to roll, which makes sense for that position.

Yeah, I am with you guys who are saying nobody from the freshman class will likely play at O-line this year. If they did, that would actually be bad. As big as those dudes are, it just takes time in the weight room and working on technique to be able to be an effective lineman at the college level. If there are any examples of true freshman lineman playing in a non-emergency scenario and actually kicking ***, they are the exceptions, not the rule.

I think you guys are pretty much right about which ones will play (Grimm, Domann, Jackson, Dismuke, Spielmann) and I think most of their action will be seen on special teams and the return game. Thats where true freshman who show up as ready to play as an 18 year old is usually start out, right? Then they may start at their positions as sophomores if they are really good and depth requires it?

Oh and Alexander could totally play, but doesnt he skew towards linebacker right now, a position that is not really in tremendous need? And wouldn't it be better to have him beef weights for a year and maybe skew towards D-End next year or the year after?

Respectfully disagree. Coach Riley pretty much includes every position group when he's talking to the public with his transparent approach.

That's good to know, thanks for the addition.

They said they've identified the freshmen who will play over the summer. I think its very unlikely Lightbourn was included in those discussions.

Agreed on the young Lineman. I think the best shot is Raridon for early frosh playing time, he just looks D1 ready watching his tape, plus like someone said above he gained a few inches. But what do I know, I'm not an expert by any stretch of the imagination on young talent getting PT right away.

Who knows which freshman will shine immediately..could be a couple, could be a few more. This is where this staff's recruiting will truly and wholly start. Two years ago no one knew DPE would shine so fast but he did. Same with Stanley Morgan last year. Here's to hoping for a surprise newcomer studs.

Farniok would be a surprise wouldnt it?
2 - The offensive line has a solid starting five for now

From what we know right now, don't expect to see a ton of heated position battles on the offensive line in Fall Camp. Nick Gates (LT), Jerald Foster (LG), Dylan Utter (C), Tanner Farmer (RG) and David Knevel (RT) appear to be solid No. 1's at their respective positions heading into camp. Another name to watch as a swing tackle/guard is fifth-year senior Corey Whitaker. He would be the next man up if something where to happen. Also don't sleep on freshman tackle Matt Farniok, as his services could easily be called upon as well. S. Callahan

I would say we have a solid two right now (Gates and Utter) ... the rest are ? marks .. probably talented but completely unproven

HBK4life, but wouldn't you figure Raridon has more upside compared to Farniok at this stage?

Maybe Jackson and/or Grimm can crack the two-deep. Grimm, or Spielman for that matter, will have a harder time making the two-deep, seems like they would have more to learn. Tre Bryant seems to have what the coaches want, but he'll be on the learning curve as well.

That leaves special teams play: I would guess that some of the LB's (including Alexander) and maybe Bootle because of his speed.

My guess is Jackson plays. The LB's (including Alexander) and maybe Bootle see special teams.
