As I posted earlier Neb is predicted to go 5-4 in Big 10. What number do you think Riley needs to hit to be safe here? You think a 5-4 conference record is safe? Or does he need to do better.

I think 5-4 will keep him here. While I would like to see better. He needs a couple more years to see how all his recruits pan out. If after 2 more years he still hasn't done better than 4 or 5 losses, time to move on.

What do you mean by "safe"? If you mean not fired-there is no way a 5-4 conference record would get him fired nor should it. Barring a major regression from last year, his job is safe at least for another year.

4-8.

@huskerhomie

Because Tommie is the worst quarterback in college football... All levels.

Riley is doomed and should be brought back because Tommie is like the Tai Webster of football.

7+ total wins is the minimum to have no heat.

Closing strong in recruiting and not blowing close games in crazy ways will help too

I think that is correct. If they go worse than last year...I think it is safe to say he is going to "retire" and probably come up with a sweet excuse like his wife misses the Northwest. All parties will part ways in a very well mannered way.

4 conference losses would disappoint me. OSU is the only team that should be flat-out favored to beat NU soundly. You could certainly make the case for a few being coin flip games, but **IF HEALTHY** they should not be losing 4 conference games.

Are you serious? We are in year two of a major rebuilding effort. The large majority of the players on the team are still from that last guy. Unless he goes 3-9, he is safe for at least a few more years......as he should be.

4 or 5 is the magic number, That is in years. Coach Riley or any coach needs that much time to establish there program. I am very optimistic about the team this year. I am hoping for a BIG West title.
