RIP, Citadel Mascot General Robert P. Carson...

[Maroon Eagle]

The Citadel has bulldogs as mascots and their mascot General passed away at the age of 8 last week.

They also have a bulldog mascot named Boo named for a former commandant of cadets made popular in a story collection by the late Pat Conroy.

Thats a good looking dog. Not as good as Jak though. Jak is a handsome dude.

The past two General mascots have been named after cadets/alums. This General was named for a former walk-on and team captain who was the team's MVP in '72. The previous General was named for an alum who was killed in Vietnam.
