RIP Kobe

[stuway]

A lot of outlets saying yes but the big boys still havent chimed in. I really pray this is false

[Bkocats]

Wrong this time...sad to say...

Its still not being reported. Have you seen it elsewhere? Seems odd this report comes out the night after LeBron passes him on the scoring list.[/QUOTE]
It literally just started being reported within the last 15 minutes

[usinfantrycat85]

My heart is broken today..I hope and pray he is dancing with Jesus.

[Noxium]

Damn this is horrible news. RIP to one of the greatest.

[Mojocat_rivals48469]

What a crazy time to be alive. First report surfaces around 2:30 of a crash, and we are left to wonder if it's true because others like ESPN don't affirm it within 5 or 10 minutes.

[Crawfords Corner]

This is effing awful. Surreal.

[Baller Cal]

Even though TMZ is a smut site, they rarely have to retract something they report. Let's hope they do.

[Crawfords Corner]

Its all over Fox news now

Wow, unreal. RIP KB, one of the very best to play the game, no doubt.

[drew_ukfan_rivals]

This is awful man. Woj has confirmed, Kobe has died

[Pygmy Sasquatch]

Only 41 years old. Still a young man. That's a shame.

[GLR5555]

ESPIN still nothing.

[LadyCaytIL]

sad news........ RIP Kobe.

News literally just broke like 15-20 minutes ago....... it takes places like ESPN longer to make up tickers so chill... ESPN and other outlets will report soon.

[SparksCat]

Whoever said meh and whoever has disrespectful comments should be permanently banned. This is the life of a human being.

sickening comment.

[BoulderCat_rivals187983]

Weird how this still isn’t on major sports and news outlets. That’s worldwide news. So sorry for his family if true. My dad was an executive the last few years of his career and flew in helicopters, He absolutely hated them.

[RoyKent]

Was hoping this was not real. Sadly it is.
Damn

[jameslee32]

ESPIN still nothing.

CBS as well.

[Snarks]

This is awful man. Woj has confirmed, Kobe has died

If Woj can confirm, then I believe it! Very sad RIP.

[meteordealer]

Wow, i can't even believe this. I was just watching some Youtube videos a few days ago of him surprising sick kids and doing all kinds of charity work. He seemed like a really good dude.

[bbnkat02]

CNN reporting helicopter crash in So Cal. No mention of Kobe Bryant.

Lots of outlets going off a TMZ report saying he was in the helicopter.

Let’s hope maybe there is some confusion. However, Kobe would seem like the kind of guy to immediately say he was ok if it weren’t true.

[ChurchLeagueLegend]

Terrible news. But that era late 90s early 2000s with iso ball and all that nonsense is precisely why I stopped following the NBA.

You just can’t help yourself.

[WildMoon]

They announcing it on pro bowl right now.

damn, sad...really sad...

[jameslee32]

[zannmann]

Sad news. ESPN now reporting it.

[loublue22_rivals308424]

just confirmed ESPN

unbelievable

[Lempface]

ESPN just said something on probowl pregame.

[4UK4life1]

I think Smash meant it in a way that he was basically saying he did not believe the news. Not that he didn't care if he passed away. Just a bad choice of wording

[DCFseattle]

[mdlUK.1]

Damn. Terrible news.

[jameslee32]

[stuway]

Its in ESPN. Its true. No words, just tragically sad. RIP brother

[JStaff21]

Damn. That’s awful. Doesn’t seem real. RIP Kobe

[UK90]

Even though TMZ is a smut site, they rarely have to retract something they report. Let's hope they do.

It's amazing how often TMZ is the first to get these stories. Not sure how they do it.

What shocking horrible news.

[EliteBlue]

Always had a special uneasiness about helicopters because of how many famous musicians and celebs have died in crashes.

I'm not sure how the safety compares to airplanes but you'll never catch me in a helicopter.

Look in the sky. What natural thing up there aerodynamically looks like a plane?? Now find something that looks like a helicopter...that’s your answer.

Coming from someone who flew them. If you lose the power source then you’re a rock falling. Only hope is to conduct a successful autorotation which is essentially converting potential to kinetic energy at the last second to cushion the impact; small skid Helos you can slide it on gently if you nail it.

But civilian pilots don’t get reps at practicing autos

[gwjenning]

Terrible

[kywildcat1021979]

R.I.P. Kobe one of the best to play the game!

[ConRay9]

This is sickening. I’m heartbroken over it for his family. He was amazing to watch. I’m actually pretty shaken right now. I was just watching highlight videos of him last night with Lebron passing him in points.

Don’t care if you liked him as a player or not, this is terrible news. I don’t know how you can’t be sad if you’re truly a basketball fan.
