As Marshall Ramsey said, Armstrong is gone but his footprints will last forever.

One of my co-workers was his grandaughter's lab partner. #2degrees

He single handedly saved the space program when he manually guided the lunar limb to a safe landing. He had the right stuff.

He went to the moon knowing there was a decent chance he might die there. The man has balls...we need more people like him around.

A true American hero and a quiet gentleman. When I was 5 and my cousin was 6 in 1969 we, of course, were always playing astronaut. He was older so he always got to be Armstong and I had to be Buzz Aldrin. I always wanted to be Neil Armstrong. In retrospect there was nothing wrong with being either of them. Will we ever go back?

I doubt anyone will ever walk on the moon again, at least not for a very, very long time. There's simply nothing more to accomplish by doing so. But I do think a moon orbit ride will be availible to passengers sometime in the foreseeable future, thanks to the efforts of Richard Branson and Burt Rutan.

There was never one peep from the Russians the moon landing was faked. And even though a convincing landing could be filmed on a Hollywood back lot, it is impossible to fake radio traffic between the earth and moon with the entire world listening in.

I get a little bent out of shape when America's second greatest accomplishment is belittled. America's greatest accomplishment was of course the forward pass.

I was just joking about the moon landing conspiracy but the

Russians did question it.......I saw a documentary on it a few months back and some of the Russian aerospace engineers from that time period were interviewed and they all said the same thing and that was that the heat shields that were used on the apollo would not have protected the craft from the radiation....Sounded a bit like envy to me.......Nonetheless there's a ton of ******** out there and even some skeptics here in the U.S. but I'm not one of them.......

about the so-called "moon-landings"....

I don't know about the Russkies, but my Grandpa always said it was faked.

I remember my parents waking me up to watch it.....

As Marshall Ramsey said, Armstrong is gone but his footprints will last forever.

I was 7 years old at the time, and they were so astounded by the idea of a man walking on the moon, they wanted me to see it for myself.
