It was a heck of a ride. Fly high.

It was my favorite roller coaster. Orion sounds cool though, I'll have to check it out soon

I rode it a couple years ago and it was completely miserable. The restraints crushed my shoulders and it felt jerkier than The Beast. It was the first coaster I ever rode as a little kid but I was never going to ride it again after my last experience.

Rode it Saturday and it damn sure felt rougher than it used to. That new ride coming looks bad ***.

Pretty much the same for me. I'm only 6'3" and I had a hard time getting my legs in because there is so little space. The Racer was awful too but I believe they replaced the track on that one since I last went.

We took the girls to Disney World two summers ago. Will never ride Space Mountain again. Not sure its been updated since the early 90's. Seats are tiny and metal on the knees feel great.

They need to build something similar to the Firehawk where the Vortex was. I loved that ride. It wasn't much to look at but the constant flipping from your back to your stomach was awesome.

Was always my favorite coaster as a kid but I won’t really miss it. I had no desire to ride it the last few times I’ve been because it beats you to death. Those steel coasters with all the inversions are just old and outdated nowadays.

My first trip to King's Island was the summer of 1987. It was the 10th anniversary of The Beast and the opening of The Vortex. Mike and the Mechanics were there in concert.

For a ten year old boy, it was a magical day.

I last rode it in 04. After spending the morning and early afternoon in a heat and humidity that would be unbearable for even a jungle cat (I broke out with red spots all over my face only curtailed by going inside for lunch) we entered the line to ride the Vortex. By then the sky started to cloud up but still gd miserable. As we climbed the first hill the sky opened up and we rode threw all those verts in a glorious downpour that felt like heaven. Never will forget that.

RIP

I could ride it all day and never vomit. I do understand why people wouldn't like it though. The constant flipping can be disorienting. If you can take it though it was awesome. Smooth and completely different that anything else.

Before Paramount bought it? I loved the Cincinnati atmosphere of the old park

I can’t really ride coasters due to a surgery a few years back, but being a big guy (6-2, 250), most arent fun when you get older anyway.

Agree. I definitely need to lose a few lbs, but I took the kids to Kentucky Kingdom last weekend and was surprised at how small the seats are on roller coasters these days. I understand that you don't want to have too much room for safety, but I could barely breathe on some of those rides!

Well gle(n)nnn you have the stomach to handle things like that. Being a serial killer gives you very little fear. Ride the fire hawk, skydive, and kill a family of four all in one day.
