Not so fast my friend. Rosters change like sh*t through a goose. Just ask Florida State and Arizona State. If we hit on the right combination from the portal and our DC wakes up we might just participate in some games in 2025.

You know, it still sucks and is hard to believe it actually happened. I remember watching the egg bowl that year and saying that he didn’t look good, almost jaundiced and gray. His color was off. Hate he’s gone.

I think State can get back to a 6-8 win team. We have to get a favorable schedule though. It they take us to a 9 game SEC schedule. We can no longer schedule P4 non-con games and must schedule winnable home games even if we have to pay dearly to whip someone. We have to lock up 3 non-con wins every year and our fans have to attend those games to support the team.
STATE has to win 3 to 4 SEC games to stay somewhat relative. That is a must. Which means there have to be some upsets. But to expect State to become a contender for the playoffs, better be looking do another conference to reside in.

I think the 9-game conference schedule died when SMU got the last playoff spot.
