Has anyone seen footage of the “fight in the stands” at the Ripley vs. New Albany MBB game? Pretty impressive. I assume legal eagles have attempted to scrub all Facebook evidence. Both schools have released generic, punish everyone, “don’t congregate” messages. Typically means they don’t have the guts to address the real problem.

I grew up in Tippah County, and briefly attended grade school in Ripley before moving elsewhere in the county. It's been a known fact since the beginning of time that Ripley and New Albany folks just don't like each other, and it starts early. I think there's been a few scuffles on the field/floor over the years, but this the first time I can recall a scrum in the bleachers. Interesting.
I didn’t grow up there but know people in the area and have heard this as well. Per my contacts, there’s a deep-seated rivalry that goes back 50+ years. That’s flirting with the Appalachian border, so I can imagine it’s interesting. Nice to see someone has a bit of community spirit left…

grew up in NA. Ripley /Na been at it forever. Anyway they are in the foothills and some ruff folks up that way. Years ago I was a farm equipment repo man. Ran into the Kubota repo man in Tn on the Ky line. We got to discussing areas we didn’t like to work. Mine was any where near Cocke county TN. He says well I don’t want to be down in Ms around New Albany or Corinth. I just said yes you’ll be smart to watch your self down there
From what I heard, it wasn't parents or students. It was all due to something that happened up the street (NA's gym isn't exactly in the ritzy part of town) that spilled over into the gym
I heard it was the Hardshell Baptists vs. the really Hardshell Baptists and something about should they go dry for caffeine AND beer or just beer.
