Quick note.... I am currently in the Swiss alps.. I have a place for a few days that has a balcony.. I am out there today drinking listening to music.. I am wearing a Wyoming cowboys shirt that looks very familiar to Oklahoma St.... Anyway a guy walks by and says "cowboys... No way.. Boomer sooner all the way".. I say. Man I am a husker fan from Nebraska.. He stops in his tracks and says "really... My bad... Nothing but respect for you sir go big red" and he just keeps walking.. I miss this match-up.

Where are you in the Alps? Beautiful country, I'm tempted to say the most beautiful I've ever visited. I was in Sils-Maria and the Upper Engadine in June/July of 2016.

Why do you even have a Wyoming shirt, let alone wear it?

There's a pretty good chance that the rivalry with Oklahoma is renewed in a few years.

Not going to happen. Nice thought anyway.

The B1G media contract expires in 2024, the Big 12 media contract ends after the 2024-25 season. And it's been reported that the B1G has already done "homework" on Kansas and Oklahoma for future expansion.

https://www.google.com/amp/www.cbss...id-expansion-homework-on-oklahoma-others/amp/

Nobody knows what's gonna happen, but if they were to accept an invitation, everything's already setup for them to be added prior to the 2025-26 season.

Then scheduled them every year.

Iowa has played the same Big 12 team every year since 1978. If is actually that big of a rivalry it can happen.
They're not. An annual CU game would be of no benefit to Nebraska.

Bring up teams like Auburn, Oregon or Texas then I'll listen.

IMO

In most cases You are going to be ranked higher with a better bowl game going 11-1 with a weak nonconference schedule than 10-2 with a loss to a ranked nonconference opponent.

Likewise if you go undefeated it is highly unlikely that the nonconference schedule is going to be a factor at all. If you are a one loss conf champ from the BIG you are going to be in the playoff regardless of nonconference schedule.

I like the premier nonconference games but from an overall rankings, bowl game selection and chance for a playoff spot I think the risk of a loss exceeds the benefit of a victory.

Obviously the ideal scenario would be to have a difficult nonconference schedule and win those games

Iowa State is an easy game logistically, so hardly a big deal. And most of the country doesn't even know the Iowa-ISU game exists.
