That would put us at 21-10 (11-5 SEC) heading to the SEC Tournament in Tampa. You could maybe make a case at 10-6 in the SEC as well.

And the easy half of our SEC season is over (teams we've played so far are 24-41 in the league, teams we have left to play are 36-29). An NIT final four would be a good year for this team..

IF we go 3-2 in this stretch we should be in pretty good shape. I would say, that is the minimum though, if we go 2-3 you can probably bank on the NIT.

Sunday. If we continue to shoot 3's like we are we could make a run in the NCAA tourny depending on the matchups. Guard play goes a lot further in the big dance than big man play. You see a lot of zone in the tourney.

I saw patdog's response regarding records of the teams we still have to play. Of the remaining 8 we still have Auburn twice, Ole Miss, and Bama. We have to win all of those and half of the LSU, UT, Florida, South Carolina games.

but if some team like Georgia wins the conference tournament again I think 21-10 isn't good enough.

We're fun to watch, but what have we accomplished? We beat KY, a team that for now appears more of a brand name than a good team.Who else? We have some exciting wins against bad teams.

MSU could be the best of the SEC's mediocre teams. That says our very best case is to be a bubble team. We won't get in without some help. And if we make it, I think we're one and done.

...is going to be VERY, VERY important! If we hold service by beating LSU, then head down the stretch going 6-2 it will be hard for the selection committee to keep us out. That would make us 22-9 and 12-4. LSU still has to play some tough games away.

For some reason, I see us getting whipped at TN. The rest, we should win, even LSU, because it is at home.

They have proven that they can play. I could see a win at UT unless they turn their shooting around.

I would be shocked if we win 22 and are left out. Beating LSU would be huge but right now I think they are the class of the league. Fla probably gets in just because of being Fla and it looks to me that Tenn and South Carolina are in the same boat. Ky could win a few more too and get in just because they are Ky but it would help us if only 2 got in from the East and we have to beat South Carolina and or Tenn to have a chance.

will probably get us in....The SEC will probably get 5 in due to the weakness of the mid-majors this year...

It will probably come down to us and SC for that final spot

is to get a first round bye in the SECT and get hot for 3 games.

If we are 12-4 I think we get in unless we flame out in our first game of the SECT. 11-5 and we'd need to play on Sunday in the SECT.

teams that could finish in the top 50 (we need SC to keep playing well)

That type record should get us in.

I don't think its realistic to just throw out a conf record and say that gets us in. It depends on who we beat at this point.

I think 11-5 gets us in the dance because of who we would have to beat to get there. For arguments sake, lets say our W's are over Auburn (2), Alabama, SC, FL. Worse case scenario is that it would give us two more quality wins, which might be enough. It would help a lot if we had 3 quality wins (Trade LSU for Alabama?).

Regardless of how weak the SEC is percieved, I don't think a 21 win team from a major conference gets left out because there just are not that many teams in Amercia that would be more deserving this year. The ACC and Big East are tough as always but the Big 10 and Big 12 are not just loaded with great teams. I do think that we have to win at least one in the SEC tournament to get in and hope and pray that a team like Georgia does not screw up and win the SEC automatic bid.

Even if we finished 11-5 in the SEC, I think we'd have to win a game in the tournament to feel really good. I don't see any way we get left out as long as we finish 11-5 and win our first tournament game. And 12-4 in the league makes the SEC tournament for seeding purposes only.

Remaining opp (120-62)

If we win the west the point is mute... LSU can easily go 5-3

*Also to note the committee last year weighted conference tourn games more important than season games. We have to win at least one even with a first day bye to get in NCAAT.

lol...that's silly. 12-4 probably wins the SEC outright. Last I checked we are tied for 2'nd overall in the SEC. I know we're not a great team, but the SEC is getting at least 4 or 5 teams in. We're definitely one of the 5 best teams in the conference. If we can hit 12-16 3 pointers in a tournament game, there aren't a whole lot of teams that will beat us. That's a big if, but it's possible. We're like the old Mike Tyson...not a very good boxer but you still have to respect that right hand. We throw a mean knock-out punch every now and then.
