Mississippi State looking for offense-minded guy?

Don't be surprised if the Mississippi State search focuses on a coach with an offensive background.

A source close to Louisiana Tech coach Derek Dooley says he isn't interested. Keep an eye on New York Jets wide receivers coach Noel Mazzone (a former Auburn and Ole Miss offensive coordinator), Oklahoma offensive coordinator Kevin Wilson and Florida defensive coordinator Charlie Strong. It also has been reported that Florida offensive coordinator Dan Mullen is a target and has spoken with school officials.

At the LR touchdown club, Broyles Award, Strong was talking about how he includes his wife and family on job decisions. He said he had an offer "a few years ago" to take a "job" (head coach). But he did not take the job because his wife had concerns about health care and schools at this place. I would love to know which job that was? So, even if we wanted Strong, I am not sure we would get him if his wife makes the decisions. By the way, Strong did not sound very articulate.

Is it just me, or is the national media really pushing Charlie Strong?
Someone with a better memory than I correct me, but didn't we approach both Charlie Strong and Randy Shannon before we hired Croom and were told, "Thanks, but no Thanks"?

Don't think they were approached much if any. LT has even said in an interview that Croom was the #1 target and focused mainly on him. When Croom declined the first time, LT stayed after him. Then LT and Croom's family talked him into it. Worst chain of events EVARRR

I thought we at least asked them to interview, but hey, I can't remember what I did yesterday.

someone posted that he accepted the job after his daughter told him he should take it. I responded to the post: "Damn daughter"..and that was it...I was a goner...haven't missed it one damn bit....that was years ago. Proud to say that I was never on that fat facker's bandwagon...from day one.

Why would Rivals throw Kevin Steele's name into the mix too? That is just out of left field, right?

Shannon is actually a decent coach who had been a coordinator for a successful program and O had been a college position coach. That is some messed up stuff if that is true.

Give me Tommy Bowden or Tubs over Mazzone. ****, and I can't even remember if he was O's first or second offensive coordinator. He sounds exactly like what I don't want though.

I am about 80% sure that rumor is a joke, but if Greg Byrne tries to float that turd down the M-State canal, I'm jumping ship for good.
