Top 20 class for sure. Already 4th in Big 12.
Burton & Young being rated had a massive effect on the class ranking.
Same thing will happen if we land Demond Claiborne.
Mangham
Stokes
Lathan
Kevin Thomas
Raleigh Collins - these two are HS teammates. After I watched Raleigh's film, he exudes an absolute brutal physicality, hoping we land both here.. Both are really good players.. Not sure if he remains a CB tho, I suppose it depends how his body develops if he'll be an OLB/Bandit/Spear...
DeAnte Hunter - seems like a perfect fit for Bandit..
Steven Sennieniola(possibly)
OR
Patrick Body Jr
Shawn Miller
Peter Kikwata
My first choice was Horace Lockett, but as long as we end up with Tomiwa Durojaiye and/or Qyaeir Price, we def need at least 1 of those, but with the Stills brothers leaving, Id def take both..
Desaun Williams(Personal preference) - seems to be a road grader type..
or
Landen Livingston
Out of all the positions/targets/commits, Im not as informed with regard to our OL commits+targets. My honest opinion, if if we land:
Weidman
Hamilton
Katarincic
Williams
Livingston
2 of these players will not work out and transfer.... Not sure which 2, but I suppose that is why you always take 5 OL in every class, cause you know a couple wont be D1 level OL.. Hamilton may be great, but its going to take him 2 years in our weight+conditioning program before hes productive. Thats normal tho for HS OL...
I suppose we are a bit spoiled with Zack & Wyatt being early impact type OL... Out of the past few years, I think Tomas Rimac will be a multi-year starter a surprising talent, which I thought before Brown mentioned he was the Gem of the class..
If this largey ends up being the #TakeMeHome22, adding the current commits actually sign... As long as we are able to keep them in Morgantown & Healthy, this could be the class that could accomplish great..... GREAT things.
That said, if Brown continues to improve recruiting every year, we could say the same thing next year, which I hope is the case. Also, because Brown is improving recruiting, this will probably cause a larger # of transfers. Because younger more talented players are earning primary roles. So while many may look at a "high transfers" as an issue, or a problem with the staff or culture, I see it as the talent coming in, is better then what has been there.. (Aside from the D Miller types that are obviously influenced).
Im curious who Brown will get as walk ons this year too. That is one obvious area Brown has taken a massive step forward. The level of talent thatare walk ons the past 2 years, is on a much higher level then year's past. Some may fail to see how this is a big deal. The quality of your scout teams can make a big impact on your player & scheme development. This will def pay multiple dividends in years to come.
All that said, Patience is still required. Its going to be a 2-3 years before these players impact the quality of play on the field. So while the momentum & attention is great, we still have to temper expectations and realize the very unfortunate starting point Brown inherited. #PatienceIsaVirtue! Brown is def building for consistent long-term success, its "The Long Strategy", one that requires patience, but the payoff will be far superior compared to "Lets go win some games"..
#FRIENDLYREMINDER:
Follow all our players, targets, & commits on all SM! Also, make sure to unfollow all unsigned players on signing day, dont want to add to the networks of other programs!
