Imagine if Brown was able to have camps & OV's last year. We would have def landed a few extra last year. I think Brown even says this in an interview.. You can tell the staff & support staff has done an excellent job structuring these events to really exude the best of our program & culture.

While we still have a long ways to go, before we can maintain a 3 year average in the 22-26 rankings, which from what I gather is needed to consistently compete at higher levels, its great to see us taking significant steps in the right direction.

We lost out on Omar Cooper today, after only taking 2 WRs in 2020 & 1 WR in 2021 (signees that will actually play WR), we def need to sign 2-3 high-end high impact WR's in this class, to give Nicco the weapons needed..

Peter Kikwata is next up on the list of targets I hope we get... His film is great, possibly even a bit faster then Omar, at least from what I can tell..

Kevin Thomas

Shawn Miller

Demond Claiborne(Slot/returner type)

We desperately need that "high impact" player that demands a double team or special coverage... The dangerous game breaker type...

Don't know if the recruiting has improved--but WVU needs it to get alot better to have a chance.

But, what's really important is the WIN total. That has declined significantly since the previous staff left.

All that really matters in the end.

2017 -- 7
2018 -- 8
2019 -- 5
2020 -- 6 (only 10 games played)

Yeah...Brown is way off of Holgy's last two years.

Says one of the dolts that claimed 7 wins wasn't good enough.

Last 4 years of Holgorsen we saw 10 wins, 8 wins twice and one seven win season.

Only reason Brown even got to a chance at 6 wins vs a G5 last year is because the Oklahoma game was cancelled.

Dude his first year was solid and he’s sitting in top 30 half way through cycle. If you can’t give credit where credit is due you have zero credibility. I’ve always thought you were an expansion crazed fanboy idiot and you prove that you are once again.

agreed.

Neal is recruiting so much more quality than DH ever will. Year 3 and is poised to land one of the best recruiting classes ever.

if we land 3 of those 4 plus the linebacker Lathan, it will be the best class ever.

Top 20 class for sure. Already 4th in Big 12.
Burton & Young being rated had a massive effect on the class ranking.

Same thing will happen if we land Demond Claiborne.

Mangham
Stokes
Lathan

Kevin Thomas
Raleigh Collins - these two are HS teammates. After I watched Raleigh's film, he exudes an absolute brutal physicality, hoping we land both here.. Both are really good players.. Not sure if he remains a CB tho, I suppose it depends how his body develops if he'll be an OLB/Bandit/Spear...

DeAnte Hunter - seems like a perfect fit for Bandit..

Steven Sennieniola(possibly)
OR
Patrick Body Jr

Shawn Miller
Peter Kikwata

My first choice was Horace Lockett, but as long as we end up with Tomiwa Durojaiye and/or Qyaeir Price, we def need at least 1 of those, but with the Stills brothers leaving, Id def take both..

Desaun Williams(Personal preference) - seems to be a road grader type..
or
Landen Livingston

Out of all the positions/targets/commits, Im not as informed with regard to our OL commits+targets. My honest opinion, if if we land:

Weidman
Hamilton
Katarincic
Williams
Livingston

2 of these players will not work out and transfer.... Not sure which 2, but I suppose that is why you always take 5 OL in every class, cause you know a couple wont be D1 level OL.. Hamilton may be great, but its going to take him 2 years in our weight+conditioning program before hes productive. Thats normal tho for HS OL...

I suppose we are a bit spoiled with Zack & Wyatt being early impact type OL... Out of the past few years, I think Tomas Rimac will be a multi-year starter a surprising talent, which I thought before Brown mentioned he was the Gem of the class..

If this largey ends up being the #TakeMeHome22, adding the current commits actually sign... As long as we are able to keep them in Morgantown & Healthy, this could be the class that could accomplish great..... GREAT things.

That said, if Brown continues to improve recruiting every year, we could say the same thing next year, which I hope is the case. Also, because Brown is improving recruiting, this will probably cause a larger # of transfers. Because younger more talented players are earning primary roles. So while many may look at a "high transfers" as an issue, or a problem with the staff or culture, I see it as the talent coming in, is better then what has been there.. (Aside from the D Miller types that are obviously influenced).

Im curious who Brown will get as walk ons this year too. That is one obvious area Brown has taken a massive step forward. The level of talent thatare walk ons the past 2 years, is on a much higher level then year's past. Some may fail to see how this is a big deal. The quality of your scout teams can make a big impact on your player & scheme development. This will def pay multiple dividends in years to come.

All that said, Patience is still required. Its going to be a 2-3 years before these players impact the quality of play on the field. So while the momentum & attention is great, we still have to temper expectations and realize the very unfortunate starting point Brown inherited. #PatienceIsaVirtue! Brown is def building for consistent long-term success, its "The Long Strategy", one that requires patience, but the payoff will be far superior compared to "Lets go win some games"..

#FRIENDLYREMINDER:

Follow all our players, targets, & commits on all SM! Also, make sure to unfollow all unsigned players on signing day, dont want to add to the networks of other programs!

Not so sure you take 5 HS offensive linemen unless a major player (4-5 star) comes on the scene.

Probably take 3, maaaaaayyyybe 4 and look at the JUCO's or transfer market for some immediate help. Hard to find that rare HS kid who is immediately ready to play so most, if not all, will need to red-shirt a year.

The most important thing you stated was we have to be patient. It is going to take a few years before these kids become major players (if they aren't beaten out by future recruits!). 6-8 wins per average over the next year or two, with progress slowly being shown on the field, and good things could await the Mountaineers when these kids become upperclassmen.

He's Raleigh Collins III. I actually played ball back in the day with/against his dad, Raleigh Jr.

Raleigh III is a damn good receiver as well, but is head hunter on defense. His dad played at Marshall and WV Tech as a lineman, as he's from Montgomery, WV area (Valley High, now closed). He also has a daughter who just won a national championship at Baylor, as a tumbler. Yes, there's an NCAA acrobatics & tumbling competition. (only knew it because we're FB friends - the old man and myself)
