I don't want to see the rotation next week. He better start and only come off if he needs a breather or is missing runs. Kid has been on fire. Great vision, speed, power and has some very nice moves to make people miss.

I don't mind some rotation to keep him fresh, but I would have liked to seen more of him in the first half.

No doubt he was great yesterday and very good since he stepped on the field. He deserved to get those touches in the 4th but I'm sure glad PJ was in for his TD.

A few weeks ago everyone was saying that Hicks should be the man so I have no problem with the rotation at all. Fresh legs.

The third quarter was not due to the rotation. We desperately wanted a run game and Indiana was determined to stop our run game. When we opened up the playbook in both halves the run game also opened up.

No doubt Martin ran the best this week. But I'm not giving up on Hocks and PJ keeps showing he is great even at around 90%. It's all good.

I've thought Martin was a beast ever since I saw him last years IU game where he laid out a DB with a punishing blow with a carry....I mean he really wanted to do damage...like when Sanu first came up...huge chip on his shoulder

We are very lucky to have the 3 running backs that we do. We are also very lucky to get Hicks and Martin back next year. Also excited to see what Goodwin will turn into by next year. Could be special.

I like the rotation, but would like to see it tweaked. If someone is hot, give them some extra snaps.

We have 3 very capable backs, and Goodwin is playing very well in his role also.

Martin was terrific. Like them all getting touches. All are very good, but also would like to see the hot hand get more carries. Happy to see James break one off after all he's been through.

Obviously osu isn't Indiana. I suspect they'll be ready for whatever we throw at them. And iu was in our backfield a lot. Was it Martins vision or were the plays designed to be more misdirection/ counter type runs

The rotation is fine and is being done for a purpose. There are some moments where I'd like the hot guy to stay... But PJ and Robert looked really fresh on their td runs late. It's very difficult to tackle a fresh RB late in the fourth

I agree with the benefit of fresh legs. But I really love the way Martin, in the words of Norries Wilson, runs ANGRY.

Hicks, Martin, and James (when healthy) all run hard and angry. If the OL played with that kind of edge, this offense would really be something.

Martin III should be the feature back. He gives you 100% with each and every run. He has superb vision and makes cuts similar to Ray Rice. I think he's the best RB on the team. Is the kid a freshman or sophomore?

This!

I lot of posters wanted Hicks to be the feature back the last few weeks and those comments were well deserved. But we also have to remember who had the two longest runs the last two games, James.

Let's just be happy we are blessed having all these young men.

I agree that we have a nice stable of backs. This kid just seems to have a better RB skills, yes even better than James. In the Penn State game he had 4 or 5 very good runs. I'm not suggesting that we don't play the other backs. I just feel that Martin has proved he should be is our starting back. I saw this in 2005 when Rice and Leonard were competing for the starting spot. Rice was simply a better RB.

Awesome run...stiff arm and then making, not taking, the hit!

Agree.

Pretty sure he is a true sophomore. Same with Hicks.

Having these many great backs reminds me of the Miami hay days with any back that can carry a team...I remember when one year they had 3 great backs that didn't miss a beat whenever either one was in....Magahee,Gore I think....what we have is a great luxury.

Martin has been awesome the last two weeks. I love how Hicks runs, too. Slightly different style. I hope PJ continues to get healthier because he doesn't look as dangerous as in the past. I agree with feeding the hot hand more. Different styles, switching them up could be tough on a defense.

After seeing Hicks make that run out of the end zone against Penn State, he needs to get the ball. After watching Martin against Indiana, Martin needs to get the ball.

We got some good backs.

And after seeing Paul James break the run against Michigan State and another against Indiana, Paul James needs to get the ball.

We got some outstanding backs. The future is bright.

Thanks for posting this vid. Something that may go unnoticed is alot of running backs would've just ran right into the line when that safety came off the edge. Martin set him up perfectly and turned what should've been a 2 yard run into a 12 yard run

Bingo. It was the very first move in the backfield to avoid the safety that created the opportunity for a nice run. A RB has to make one man miss on every play in order to be successful and fortunately for us we have 3 guys that can do that at a high rate of success.

This thread reminded me of Matt Millen's dumb comment in the PSU game about "if you have 3 backs you don't have any." Or 4, or whatever he said. Couldn't disagree more!
