ROCK..................................????................................HARD PLACE

Lets just say the season plays out like most of us think. Win 1 lose the rest. What will GB do off season? I don't think accepting Woodrow's resignation will placate and mollify the masses. Yet, I blv he wants to semi-honor the contract and give Crooms one more chance. I also blv. that there are alot of faculty that want to keep an AA coach on board b/c it makes the university's public perception better (I've heard this from some ppl) What are the GB options? Can he satisfy both sides or will he do neither?

If Byrne thinks keeping Croom around one more year is the way to go, I think the ONLY course of action is to let McCorvey go and for Byrne to convince Croom that he needs to hire a competent offensive coordinator and let the new OC do his own thing (kind of like Johnson had control of the D last year).

That gives us some new blood on offense and frees Croom up to actually be the head coach and not just a glorified OC. Because regardless of what he says, he is the OC... McCorvey may be the play caller during the game but Croom is the one who, during the week, decides what plays are available to be called.

but there's no way that a competent up and coming OC will come to work for him...he may get an old fart...bottom line is that he won't be able to attract a top notch OC and he will be fired at the end of next year....State won't fire a coarch in mid-season. At any rate, McWilly will be out one way or another after this year...best scenario is that Croom will ask for some kind of buyout at the end of this year...because he knows in his heart of hearts that he truly sucks and knows that everyone else knows the same thing.
