Rodon and his catcher very lucky to not have been ejected

I agree, if that is Girodo throwing a gem, and not Rodon, he is ejected immediately for throwing his glove down and showing up the ump.

I will say,..at first I thought he got it wrong, but replay showed that the runner was safe. Hell of a call by the ump.

Ump definitely got the call right

and had this not been a CWS elimination game, they probably would have been ejected for that reaction. Batters get ejected for throwing helmets (see Jarrod Parks against LSU), catchers should get ejected for throwing their mask... in every game except of this magnitude. Blue should chew on him a min, give him a warning, and let it go.

Could have definitely been ejected with most non-NC State fans saying they understood and agreed with it

NC State has been throwing helmets and pounding bats into the ground the whole time they've been in Omaha. This same ump warned Senay in an earlier game after he slammed his helmet into the ground after a called strike three to end the inning.

I'd have ejected Rodon. You can argue that you give some leniency for the CWS, but you can also argue that as far as the ump is concerned, it shouldn't matter.

It was the right call to not throw anyone out but certainly a warning along the lines "anymore tomfoolery from anyone and they are in the showers"
