Sad time in tennis. Great player, full of class in every aspect of his life. Was a joy to watch play. Will miss him a lot.
A great, great player and ambassador for tennis. One of the most elegant, all-around games in tennis history, imo. Very much in the conversation as GOAT although others have more GS wins. IIRC, Federer lost to Nadal in French 4 out of 5 years straight at one point. I'm guessing if he weren't playing the GOAT of clay on those occasions, Fed's GS titles would be closer to 25 or 26. Plus, I don't think Fed played the AO very often in his prime (like Borg who only played it once at 17 years old).
I'd like to see Medvedev, Alcaraz, Zverev, Sinner, Ruud, Kyrgios and others form a new Big 8 and slug it out over the next 10+ years.
Yep. I must have been thinking of another player. Fed won the AO 6 times, so he obviously played there more than my previous posts states. My bad.He played in the Aussie Open every year until his injuries kept him out in 2021.
