Walker will move over to his natural position and vastly improve production there. Question is - who steps up to DT?

Apparently Rogers wanted to go to the draft but I guess he isn't getting enough positive feedback. At his size, can't imagine he's going to transfer up and actually perform any better, unless he wants to play dt in a 4-3

I always thought he should've been a DT.

Thought he was playing the third best on the DL by the end of the season. Walker, Dinkens and Rogers stood out last third of the season. Guess Dinkins takes his place and he is becoming a star. Luckily Hayes, similar size and a ton of experience, gets his chance to emerge like Dinkins has if he works the hardest he has ever worked in the off season. Big Ox will be putting weight back on so maybe he will come back with a splash also. Still a ton of guys on the DL to work with.

I guess someone else offered more money. You know, I just don't know if college sports is worth following and investing our emotions in any longer. Things were already difficult enough for football programs with a history like UK's, trying to compete with the football giants. Now we have to contend with this crap where the highest bidder can simply swoop in and nab the few good recruits we are able to get.

He should've been. Several times last year, teams blocked Rogers man up. That's how teams saw him. It allowed him to make some plays, but that position absolutely must demand a double team.

Surely the staff tried to get him to flip to dt. Iirc most teams wanted to him to play on offense but he always wanted nose. I guess that just persisted. Oh well.

Maybe but I have a hard time believing it. Who is offering more money to a nose who can't command a double team?

Now I absolutely believe there might be some issue with the fact the staff went out of the way to help Deon get nil but not Rogers. Truth is walker is much more deserving, but these will be the issues around nil moving forward

That was my first thought as well. If he can get one year of guaranteed NIL that's more than the guaranteed signing bonus of a mid- to late-round pick it makes economic sense.

Kind of OT but what’s the latest with Goodwin? There was some UofL smoke early, then some smoke he might return but nothing since then. Has he taken visits or anything?

You guess then act like it’s a fact. SMH.

Just like someone will irresponsibility claim this move was due to Rodgers thinking program won't get better under Stoops, I'm gonna assume this is 100% NIL.

Or the lack of support from UK fans/businesses specifically. He can probably go to a Louisville ir Knoxville or Mich St or Miami and be compensated what a talented D lineman is worth in CFB in 2023.

No doubt the ones who will be in this thread crying the hardest are also in the NIL threads shouting the loudest how oh hell no will they never pay extra to college kids.

Watch the news, UK is not going to be alone with great talented young players jumping in the portal this week.

Staff has to find somebody in the portal then
Maybe! But also maybe not...

The backup in bowl game was redshirt freshman Jamarius Dinkins (high three star w/ multiple P5 offers), and on Senior Day, and most of regular season, it was Josiah Hayes who will be a senior with a COVID year remaining.

If they can get someone good I'm sure they'll hit the portal; otherwise, they got some depth coming back. I'm not sure how many nose guards are in the portal you'd pay big NIL for over what you have proven that's returning.

If that's true, does that mean he was contacted by another team's booster and offered an NIL deal if Rogers went there? If that's the case then you know the head coach would be overseeing it. No booster would make that move without the coach's blessing.
So if UK matches, does he stay?
