I kinda agree. Now, I'm not saying they are kids, and I'm not saying Stans shouldn't do anything. I just have a rule against going off on student athletes for **** I did in college and got away with because it never hit the newspapers. I got in a fight with my roommate freshman year because of something stupid. Punches were thrown. Now, granted I didn't do it while out representing my school, in a place with TV cameras, and it didn't make it to ESPN.

Stans has to suspend them and he has to get control of this team but I hardly see this as a death penalty case or anything.

let their need to profit from it, cloud it even more. At 18, you can take a bullet for your country, be tried as an adult for any crime you commit in the real world (outside of this athletic fantasy land that college sports have become), and cast a vote that could make a difference in the way this country operates. It's quite sad actually that people have let sports influence real life **** like this. If these were 2 guys in a brawl threatening the safety of innocent people nearby at any other location, but more importantly, these guys weren't affiliated with MSU sports, the Swan, Rosie, and the rest of those asshats would be the first ones raising hell for them to be punished to the fullest degree.

This is precisely why I suggested the "Kids are anyone 17 and under" rule on this board. Colleges infantalize their athletes all the time, calling them "kids". Wonder what Elgin and Sydney would do to anyone who came up to them and called them "boy"?

It's not objective. This isn't "boys being boys". This is a guy who has gotten into two fights in three days with a teammate. It's a pattern.

It's pretty hypocritical as well, because if this was happening at Ole Miss, they would be lambasting them and calling them dirty.

As it is, as a State fan, I am pretty embarassed and if someone for Ole Miss called MSU's basketball program thuggish, I wouldn't argue.

At this point, I just hope our administration has learned from the past mistakes of Jackie Sherrill losing control and don't make them with Rick Stansbury.

Its not that Sidney and Bailey got into a fight in the stands on national TV

Its not that Sidney fought another player in practice tuesday

Its not that Ravern had to suspended for a game

Its not that Dee Bost was academically ineligible and missed games due to academic suspension

Its not that Dee Bost didnt pull out of that draft in time to miss games due to NCAA suspension

Its not that Osby transferred out

Its not that The Recruiter ran off Phil Turner

Its not that we are 32-57 vs top 100 RPI teams the last 5 years

Its not that we are 2-17 vs top 25 RPI teams the last 5 years

Its not that we underachieved and missed the NCAA's in 2010

Its not that Kodi knocked Sidney the 17 out in 2010

Its not that Ravern was suspended for a game on national TV vs Kentucky in 2010

Its not that Dee Bost called out The Recruiter for not switching defenses when Fortson beat us by himself in Arkansas

Its not that Kodi called out The Recruiter in the paper after losing to Rider

Its not that Hansborough would rather transfer than start for us

Its not our inexplicable sub patterns

Its not the Delk twins would rather transfer than start or be the 6th man

Its not that the team looks to be listening to everybody during a time-out except The Recruiter

Its not that The Recruiter refused to start Augustus most of the year in 2008 and then realizes he made a mistake at the end of the season- starts him and makes the NCAA's

Its the culmination of all these damn things the last few years- its a constant circus and cluster-17 that people are growing weary of and tired of seeing. It's ALWAYS some type of drama going on in the basketball program. Thats becoming unacceptable.

If you were in the band and got on national TV for something as stupid as this brawl Ms. Lance would've kicked you out of the band on the spot and made you buy your own plane ticket home. There is an understanding that when you put that uniform on, or when you're on a trip on behalf of the university, you are representing your school and you'd better act accordingly. There is NO excuse for this kind of behavior.
