Here is our 13 man scholarship roster for next season. The starters will get huge minutes, and we'll see the next 6 fight it out for the remainder with Javin getting 12+, maybe even swapping with Marques halfway through the year.

Duval
Trent
Allen
Carter
Bolden

DeLaurier
White
Tucker
Vrank
O'Connell
Goldwire
Robinson
Besser

That's my guess and I'm sticking to it. I think this is an 8 loss, Elite 8 team. Have a nice week, all.

Trent 20-25 mpg
Javin 15-20 mpg
Vrank 5-10 mpg
O'Connell 0-10 mpg

Our rotation gets cut to 7 by tournament time.

If Frank returns, we are Final 4 contenders. With no Frank, an Elite 8 could be this teams ceiling.

If Allen can stay healthy (he is a 1st round talent and will be an experienced senior with a chip on his shoulder) and Duval comes, I think this has final four written all over it. Show me a better backcourt.....just my opinion.

I think there's a lot of worry after losing out on Knox and probably Frank Jackson... but, look at it this way: There's a good chance our starting lineup will feature 5 first-round picks.

Trevon Duval
Grayson Allen
Gary Trent
Wendell Carter
Marques Bolden

Yep!! We will have the 2 best guards in the country and possible 2 best post players.

The only thing I don't like is how people are underrating Bolden. After Duval, he's actually the key guy. If he balls, that will set us apart from a lot of teams. That frontcourt can be brutal

It's not so much underrating Bolden as it is a little skeptical in how he will play. I don't think you'll find a poster here that questions his talent. It's his will to kick *** that people question. Yes he is a key, but Allen to me is what will drive the train. I hope he plays and acts like a senior leader. If so, Duke will be tough. Other than Grayson, everyone else is questionable to how good they will be. Duke can be really good if everyone buys in and gives their all

If we get Duval, the starting five is Final Four worthy. The problem will be the bench, especially in the backcourt. A pressing team can wear them down, but more likely there will be a games where a guard gets in foul trouble and our lack of depth bites us. Don't get me started on what an injury does.

Ironically, rotation wise this team will look a lot like the 2010 squad. There will be 2 distinct rotations, one in the frontcourt and one in the backcourt. Back then it was Singler/Scheyer/Smith with Dawkins getting whatever minutes he could. Next year will be Duval*/Allen/Trent with O'Connell or Goldwire getting the Dawkins minutes. We have a lot of bodies in the frontcourt like 2010 but likely more talent. But there's no Tatum/Jabari/Justice combo forward to splice the lineups with this year.

Frank is the key to our upcoming roster. Losing him would sting and sting bad, there's no getting around that

Let's look at the bench.
I think Trent now moves into that wf spot especially if Jackson isn't returning.

The bench would be Goldwire, O'Connell, Tucker( waiting), White, Javin and Big V.

That's Javin coming off the bench as the first big and then O'Connell and Tucker. Duke will need some minutes from the bench especially being so young. These bench players will see minutes and they will have their chance it's up to them if they want to play.

DukeDenver, you mention a good point.

In the college game it's good to have NBA talent but as we've seen. Some three or four star players keep the college game competitive. So I'm actually looking forward to seeing if you still have those kids that want to compete and show what they can do.

Could Goldwire and Tucker be that for Duke in a couple years?

Before he got hurt he looked good. He looked really good in the scrimmage. After the injury he caught on a little slower. Plus I believe Coach K was at fault for not letting him play and having that short leash. You can't do that to every kid. He looked most comfortable when Coach K was out. He never let Bolden gain his confidence back.

I understand that line of thinking, I just see it another way. I think K looked at it as, this is the only chance we have to ride these 7 kids and if we win we win and if we lose we lose. I think we were so far behind the 8 ball that he just said, screw it we can't afford to lose any games and we can't afford to risk anything other than what we are doing.

Who's better runt
In the post next year Ayton( if he plays) and Bamba will be better than Carter l. And if you think Bolden will be able to be a top 2 big next year pass me what you're smoking. In terms of guards well there's a lot that could be considered for the top 2 spots.

Bamba? Has no offensive game and will struggle against players his size in the post. Bamba's defense is what has scouts liking his potential. As for Bolden he will surprise a lot as long as he sticks to his own words.
Name a better back court then Duval( if he comes to Duke) and Allen along with Trent and Jackson ( if he was to return)?

Lol! They think Duval is overrated like they thought about Knox UNTIL he committed to them.

I don't think duval is overrated.... There's a lot of good guards in CBB next year but I'm sure you think Duval is 100% going to be the best guard next year so there's no point to arguing

We don't smoke over here, it's bad on environment. Our mods get some good stuff from a guy named Gary. They prefer we snort

In CBB, a big man who gives you defense, shot blocking, and rebounding is generally as good as it gets. And Bamba will likely do all of that, plus run the floor well. You don't need to run your offense through the interior to be a top-five team in CBB.

As to your second point, I'm really excited to see Bolden this coming year. I think he's going to live up to last year's hype if he stays healthy.

My point on Bamba was, his defense was ok I didn't see him do anything that the other Centers/pf were doing the one center ate him up in the post during the AA games

Looks like Frank is staying in the draft. Good luck, young man. He must be getting serious first round nods from several teams. Tricky Tre, if you're seeing this, even our backup guards are getting pro looks. Come on down to Bull City.

link from ESPN, says his father announced it just now
