Is anyone on here affiliated with it or ever have been? If so, recommend it or not?

Others will obviously have better input but one of my roommates and good friends was ROTC. Ended up flying cargo planes full of rubber dogshit out of Hong Kong.. (C-130’s in Alaska and Afghanistan). Did his time and got out. I think he would say it was overall a good experience.

AF ROTC at State made the rest of my life great. Pilot training was hard, but it made me work hard for what I wanted. Got to fly jet transports all around the world and that lead to an airline job for the rest of my career. My AF training led to management jobs at my airline.
Let's say it beat running a funeral home in Laurel, MS. Don't get me wrong...I love my hometown.
As the product of the world's most conservative father, I learned in Business school at State that no one really succeeds at life without taking a calculated risk at least once in their life.

It was a long time ago, back when ROTC was required of male students for the first 2 years at State, but a good friend of mine majoring in EE went advanced Air Force ROTC. He made a career of the Air Force, taught at the Air Force Academy, and retired as a colonel. So he had a good career.
