Top 5 guesses of positive things to be said at that practice or before season that when you look back in April you will laugh......
1. Player V has been the most improved player and is in the mix for the starting power forward (4).
2. Player W is the shooter with the most range we have seen since Quincy Douby
3. Player X has put on 15 pounds all muscle
4. Player Y is expected be in contention for rookie of the year
5. We knew player Z could score and had a good handle, but his defense has surprised the coaching staff.

Cliff having a Jump Hook in the paint is a game changer if he can shoot it with touch...no long line drives thrown at the rim.

I like that Rothstein has already given more props to Jamichael Davis than our fan base has.
I remember rothstein going to practice last year and saying cliff improved his offensive game and chol was someone to watch out for. Guy is basically just a PR firm that says whatever the teams tell him to. According to his Twitter every player could be an all American and every team can make the final four.
It was actually Carino who hyped Chol.
It’s important to understand that most reporters are not good talent evaluators. And by that I mean no better than the average fan.
A Jump Hook is such a basic and effective shot for Bigs it is amazing that more don't develop and perfect it. I can only guess that many don't have the touch because you gotta roll it off your fingertips.
You get position in the post, receive the pass, take a one step, (no) dribble right and release the jump hook over your shoulder. You can Bank it off the glass and it's a very high percentage shot. If a defender tries to overplay it, you spin back the other way watching for help defenders.

It's pretty clear that Pikiell was showing this in practice. At least two reporters stated the same thing after watching practice. You report what you see, lol

Of all the improvements to make, getting a shooting touch where one wasn't before, is the hardest.
Unless you can hit it at a very high percentage. I'd rather a face up and strong take where you might also draw a foul.
Just shut down the opposition's 5 and get 13+ rebounds per game. Looking for him every time down the floor and him putting the ball on the floor is a recipe for going .500.
