It gave Tex. first down and probably the game.. Was it a good {fair} call by the official? Didn't see a replay.

The first look at it looked pretty weak, but a later replay showed it from the side and he could have pulled up before hitting him.

In the grand scheme of things, it was just one of many many bad things that cost us this game.

They never showed the conclusion of contact, but you could see it about to happen and it was super late.

It was the first and probably dumbest play. He didn’t even unload on him. Gave them a first down and kept the game alive for a little shove well after the play.

we get the ball in field goal range there and let our defense get a breather and there’s no way we 17 if up from that point. Even if we’d tried to 17 it up just s hard, anything other than a pick six or fumble recovery and they run out of time.

I thought it was a weak call, but by the letter of the law it was the correct one. Does that get called every single time, no. Does it get called on teams like us who are trying to claw out of a hole? Every single time. That's football on every level. You can't give an excuse to call it because they are expecting you to do it. You don't get the benefit of a doubt.

I don't have a problem with aggressive refs calling penalties so long as it's even. Sure felt like the refs got involved in the 4th quarter yesterday, and it wasn't even-keeled. Shapen got drilled a couple of times without calls for what would've surely been called for uTexas.

The back to back PI calls on that same Texas drive seemed the same, but they were already at the 2 or whatever at that point, so I doubt it made a difference.

I was more bothered by the lack of review for the big Wingo run off the screen on the second play of the game when it sure seemed like he might've stepped out. They had a couple of TDs that were potentially out of bounds that were the same way. Was there enough video evidence to overturn the incomplete pass call on the field for the OT TD pass? Etc.

Like JWS used to tell the team: gotta beat the other team and the refs by not leaving enough margin.
