The guy won 2 NATIONAL championships in the 2000s. He has had continued success thru the years at both KU and UNC.
Did you see all that he lost after last years team won it all? They have been unimpressive to say the least this season, but its hardly a matter of Williams being fluffed too much.

Yeah, cant forget Tyler Zeller was out since the start of conference play and only just came back last week. I hear he is kinda good...
And one of the Wear brothers is done for the season now...though statistically he wasnt much.
They have Barnes coming in next season, the best player in the country and an absolutely awesome guy. Plus a couple more top 20 players...one who can replace Drew at the PG spot and bring that up a good bit in terms of talent.

You are trying to be cute and take a Rick Stansbury scenario and apply it to great programs. It's not happening. Teams like these are making huge runs into the tournament and losing lottery picks. They are recruiting McD's All Americans to replace them but it doesn't always translate to instant success.
Look at the teams that have had recent huge runs and then "down" years. They are all right back in the top 25. Pitt, Texas, Kansas, Duke, Georgetown. UCLA is trash this year but look at the last 4 years. Three Final Fours and a 2nd round appearance. They've also lost afflalo, farmar, collison, and Kevin love to the pros.

Roy Williams or anybody else is judged on how well they perform in the W column. Nothing else. What "scenario" is he taking from Stansbury?
