even without Mitchell and Greene. Defensively, I think they are better without those two. Lacey, Releford, Steel, and big whitey in the paint are going to be a handful if we don't come ready to play (which I don't think we will. We will still be hungover). I imagine we score our fewest points of the season on Saturday.

i love the way grant coaches. Is there any chance he would leave Alabama for MSU? Would we even go after him?

I feel like I know the answer to these, but let me down easy...

And a dumpster fire of a season this year, despite having a consensus Top 20 team pre-season?

Really? I know y'all hate everything Stans related but so far, Grant hasn't been to the tourney in his three years at Bama, and their resume lacks any real wins and it is looking doubtful in year three he will get there. Once Green graduates, it will be interesting to see what Grant can do in year 4, but I would think at best they will be a bubble team.

Im just saying, if you aren't happy with Stans because his team is a bunch of underachieving, selfish players, then Anthony Grant's 2011-2012 Bama team isn't one you want your team playing like.

their season is far from "dumpster fire"- he's had to suspend some players- but they arent fighting on TV...we've suspended players too this season, just as Bammer has

They have a 36 RPI and a 16 SOS right now- better than us on both counts

Grant has improved Bama every year he's been coach- it will only be disappointing for them if they end up not making the NCAA Tourney

...also, Kevin Stallings has been a sixpack candidate to replace Stansbury.

Plus don't forget Cuonzo Martin, Pelphrey, former Miami coach Leonard Hamilton, Mark Gottfried and a dozen more I can't remember at the moment.

Here's the way it works: coach34 randomly pulls some coach out of his *** that has recently done something noteworthy.

Then coach34's creates a shadow resume around his new love that hilights all of his new love's strengths while downplaying all of his new love's weaknesses.

Then coach34 cross references his new love with Stansbury. Naturally, all of Stansbury's successes are buried while all of his weaknesses are emphasized.

It's the exact same formula implemented by political campaigns.

If you need an example of what I am talking about, look at how coach34 is treating Grant in this thread.

Really? This year is an improvement over last year's 24-11 and 12-4 in the SEC?

Look I think Grant is a good coach, but this year's Bama team has been a major disappointment. Tony Mitchell suspended for the year, Green and several other starters suspended for various reasons. I sincerely doubt you would give such latitude to Stans.

Grant has had to suspend senior starters from his team, and is 6-6 in the SEC with no wins against a team in the SEC that has a winning SEC record. Its been a subpar year, anyone that tries to argue that it hasn't been is just arguing to argue.

Since the bubble is so weak, they may end up in the tournament by default, but I wouldn't count them in just yet. They have plenty of opportunity to lose enough to fall out of favor.

Really, there are only 3 SEC teams that have solid NCAA resumes right now. The rest have been very flawed most of the year. Bama may be in the best shape of the rest, but there is a large divide between the top 3 in this league, teams that are actually good, and the rest of this league. The middle 6 of the league are fairly interchangeable in the way they're playing right now.

It reminds me a lot of the 2009 football season, when we had 2 really great teams in the league, followed by a large batch of mediocre from teams 3-11.

If Bama makes the the NCAA tourney as an 11 seed? when you are a pre-season Top 20 team is not improving. You are not taking expectations into account. They were a consensus Top 20 team, top 15 in some polls. The only reason they are on the bubble is because of those preseason polls that started them off so high. They are a bubble team right now with no solid wins on their resume. I have no idea how they are still a bubble team if you look at their schedule. Their best wins are home against Ole Miss and Tennessee. If they go 8-8 in the SEC that is not improving.

It is taking a team with senior laden talent and disappointing. Come on you don't obviously believe that Grant has improved the Alabama team this year over last year's team, you are just arguing to argue, so you can have the last point.

Stans can be a bad coach, and Grant can also have a bad year. He is having one this year. Not as bad as Darrin Horn, who will be available if MSU is looking.

And we're probably going to get in the tournament too, so that's proof that Stans has us moving in the right direction. At least it is using the same logic you use for Grant at Alabama. Yet another example of your glaring double standards between Stans and every other coach in America.

they have 1 Sr and 3 Jr's on the entire squad- 1 suspended for the year, 1 has been hurt, and the other is a roster-filler. The rest are Soph's and Freshmen...if he makes the Tourney with all the trouble he has had with his upper classmen, that will be a pretty damn good coaching job

with Kennedy and Johnson to be the next Coach34 propped-up SEC coach to be fired by their school. However, like Pelphrey, Brady, and the rest of them, they will still be great coaches as long as you ask 34.

Now, I think Stans should be gone after this year, no matter what we do from here. But, unlike some, I understand that the next coach has a better chance of being a flop than not.

Coach was pumping sunshine about how great he was as recently as early last season.
