Either that or his grades are so horrible that not even Mississippi Delta CC would touch him.

from all that i have read elsewhere and heard from a couple people who have seen him in person, the kid is actually a pretty decent player.
from the looks of things, he has performed very well in camp. here's to hoping he lives up to the offer he received.

The guy's scout.com tape is pretty bland, but they only have him catching one pass in one game against West Point.

What is for sure is Mullen values size. At 6-5, 238, Warren is the 3nd largest player on our scout.com recruit list behind Knox, who will end up at tackle, and Malcom Faciane, who committed to 'Bama. Also, he did make the Tupelo combine's first team TE ahead of Knox.

I guess he just had a good camp, and I hope he ends up being a great player.

He does play at a crap school in the Delta. It's not like he's playing for Oak Grove. If he's a TE, I bet he gets utilized about as much as the TE in Jackie's offense sans CJ Sirmones.

For all of the tongue in cheek bashing I've done on this guy in my one post in this thread about him- I trust Dan's judgement on this. At the very least he has good size. And we need WR's/TE's, so he fills a need. He may have to RS and develop, but we've got Marcus Green for a couple of more years.

he's seen it up close and personal. We all know that this area is a very fertile recruiting ground and, in Mississippi especially, many good athletes fall through the cracks. I'd say a bunch of good athletes don't even go out for football unless they have an aggressive coach in place looking for the best talent at the school.

So yeah, if Mullen goes after these guys early in the process, then I feel good saying they are good enough to play SEC ball. I worry a little about some of those guys who popped up at the last minute last year, but if they get offered early I'd say they're pretty good.

yeah seriously, tight ends dont get a lot of glamour. if you follow recruiting at all, youd know this guy has been on the verge of getting an offer for a long time. he's a really good athlete

a clinic in Jax. When talking of the value of sending kids to camp, he said State had offered a guy that day they had never heard of. He was not on their list and the coach responsible for that area didn't even know anything about him. He said the kid blew them away in camp, and got an offer. He never used a name but I would guess this is who he was talking about.

He got offered at camp and wasn't on the radar before he worked out and his speed was eye opening.

The kid does have the size and could have been under the radar, but until Coach 34 gives his blessing then he is a so so kid that is not wanted by anyone else.
