After Bruiser writes a 20 paragraph diatribe about their future freshmens lineman's talent that will rival any NFL team's, all will be well.

Leaving because financially he needs to I hate to lose him and hate that he's going before he should but he's got to do what is best for his family

He was the self admitted p*ssy monster. Guess he never figured out what came next.

Good luck to him. I still love the Bama hat fake out.

he was majoring in liberal arts. I don't see a degree in liberal arts from Mississippi opening up a whole lot of doors (other than to those burger joints you mentioned).

So leaving school, without a degree, to go to the NFL and more than likely wont play a down is financially sound? <div>
</div><div>Holy **** i'm hitting the P90X hard again for a few months, quitting my job, and heading to training camp. It's the financially sound thing to do. </div>

players it's a way to an education and a decent job, not an automatic ticket to the NFL. We were all young and dumb, but damn it seems like they would "get it".

if you have the chance to make 500K vs 25K coming out of college - you have to jump at the opportunity.

Just like Jeavan Sneed who never got on an NFL roster.

This is a common thing with the rebels - starters jumping ship.

Ole miss is positively in the worst shape I've seen in my 41 years. Maybe ever. If it wasn't so comical it would be sad. Damn you guys suck.

Guess the whole degree thing didn't help Deuce either. He's just a football player, not a businessman!

the occasional accident happens, I have a 6 month old at 43. But, it seems like more than 1/2 of the players making decisions these days have to takechildren into the debate.

I just get tired of hearing fans say that he had too because his family needed him to financially. I'm not saying Massie is going pro because Ole Miss went 2-10 and their future isn't very bright, but it sure didn't help, but yet you have Ole Miss fan saying that's not why he's going pro... It's because he has a kid and needs to financially... I'm just calling ********. If you don't think Ole Miss having a ****** season and probably having another ****** season next year didn't play a role in his decision, then you are a gullible SOB.

he's leaving. itsdoesn't seem to me to be the smartest decision buthe needs money now. i will say that thinking long term is better than thinking short term, but if you don't survive the short term the long term doesn't make much difference. as far as his prospects, if he makes a team which i think he probably will he'll make more than he'll make doing much of anything else and i think the guy does have the ability to play nfl ball. i hope it works out for him.

the desireablity of playing for ole miss in 2012 one way or the other. i imagine if it looked like we might win the sec his decision might be different, so don't spew your crap at me. i simple reported the stated reason massie is leaving.

"Ole Miss 17ing blows so I'm outta here." And no you didn't. You didn't like someone implying that Massie is leaving Ole Miss because it's a cluster17, so you throw your he's leaving because his family needs the money. And it's not just you. If this was a Msu player and we came off a 2-10 season and our program was in disarray, you would have some idiot State fan saying the same crap if an Ole Miss fan implied that he was leaving because our program sucked and didn't look good for the future.
