#3 is really important to everyone. You'd be hard pressed to find a team that wouldn't experience at least some drop off if it lost an established starter at QB. I think we'd actually be better off than the average since Williams has reportedly made leaps and bounds in the off season after being decent as a true freshman last year.

I like the experiment with having an extra official. I think the fast paced offenses get away with presnap stuff because the officials aren't in a position yet to determine a penalty.

I'm glad #1 is a thing. Happened a few times last year where a penalty was thrown for targeting only to get overturned and the 15 yard penalty stand. That was about the most counter logic thing I have seen.

Put an emphasis on OL not being down field on forward pass. TSUN and Auburn are doing it routinely now with that play where they fake zone read and then throw it.

Look at Auburn game last year on play where nick marshall's pass is batted back to him and he catches it and runs for like 50 yards. Left tackle was 5 yards down field. TSUN does same thing. The OL block it as a running play (meaning they go down field) and QB pulls it and passes depending on his read. Check out the link and watch the LT.

I'd rather us just start taking advantage of it as well. Hopefully we do and I just don't notice it.

This does not seem like a subtle change at all:

"There’s a subtle change regarding penalties called on the defense during a pass completion, the penalty will now be marked off at the end of the entire play."

I'm assuming that does not mean you can tack a pass interference penalty onto a completed pass, but that's definitely what it sounds like they are saying. But that would be a big deal if you started tacking penalty yards on to the end of a play if it involved a completed pass.

I was reading a Bear board the other day and they were complaining about Auburn

always having OL downfield on almost every play with Malzhan's hurry up offense. I've never really looked for it but it makes some sense.
