Looking at kenpom it appears the new rule changes have changed the pace of play through a weekend's worth of games.

Last year the average game had 64.8 possessions. So far this year it is at 70.0

We averaged 65.7 last year and so far this year..69 vs RUNWK and 82 vs. Howard.

I wonder how many team will zone press and fall back in to a half court zone because of the rule changes.

The amount of foul calls we saw last night took the flow out of the game and would have made it boring if i was a casual fan.

I also HATE the removal of the 5 count. It is wrong that a player can eat clock by hanging out in a corner and fouling is the ONLY way to get possession.

I agree, too many fouls called. Let's see if this changes as the season goes on. I hope so, too many stoppages of play.

The 30 second clock is a great change. I didn't realize they dropped the 5 count this year too, good to know.

Thankfully we have a deep, athletic running team that can push the pace this year.

Agree the foul calls last night took the flow out of the game. With our aggressive D and and ability to get out on breaks, I'm looking forward to a lot of great runs this year.

I thought the rule change about the 5 count only pertains to that a player can continue to dribble while being guarded and not be called for a 5 count.

I don't think a player can just hold the ball without being whistled for a 5 count. I think there still is a 5 count for that. I used to know rules inside and out, but as time goes by, the memory starts failing a bit even at age 57. LOL.

Best of Luck,
