Tony Franklin - OC

Thoughts? Not making this up. This came from an assistant coach that does not coach football. (I know, give me a break here) One reason that I could see this happening is that Crxxms knows he has to get some playmakers and there are some in MS (Thames, Bumphis, Patterson, just to name a few) This hire would most definitely get their attention! The Franklin Offensive System is a very good offensive system. I dont think Tubbs gave him the freedom to do his thing at Auburn. This is not the Gulf Coast offense where you can disguise the I formation with the pro-I formation (sarcasm) You pretty much have to sell out to this. I think Ears is alot like Crxxms or vice versa in the fact that they are neither very open for change.

If this is true I might give Crxxms a little credit for at least trying.

Worst hire he could make!! The best thing to do is just fire Croom. Fan support for football is at an all time low right now, with the economic situation faimlies are now looking at how they spend there money, and it is worth the investment. Right now, its not. People say we cannot afford to buyout Croom, the better question is can MSU afford to keep him. The answer is clear, get rid of Croom, hire a bright up and comming coach like Graham, Patterson, Kelly, or Hatcher, get fan support behind you, and you will regain the money. Look at Alabama, I think that investment paid off pretty well.

I called bs when I first heard it too. The quotes, burning red shirts, etc. of the past few weeks has the signs of desperation all over it. I will say this if I were making 1.7 million dollars a year I would definitely give this spread thing a look if it meant a few more paydays.

Having typed all of the above I think there is 0.01% chance of this happening.

A couple of weeks ago, Byrne met with Croom about the offense. Byrne said that changes needed to be made to the offense and Croom walked out of the meeting. Seriously.

That weekend, you saw the number 9 jersey of Arceto Clark go up in flames. Coincidence?

he should be fined 1.7 million dollars and asked to resign. That would solve a lot of problems.

That sounds like a man who is either out of control or freaking loosing it. I mean he acts like he is Jack Bauer getting pissed out walking out like that! He needs his *** straightened out!

The funny thing about this quote(Not yours, what Croom said) is that some of the stuff Croom runs is a spread type offensive.

it is amazing the pride, ego and mile high "chip on the shoulder" the man has with so little on the coaching resume to back it up. The man is a career assistant, without only a very brief stint as a coordinator in the NFL, and no head coaching experience before MSU and yet he is totally closed minded to everything but what he came with in hand from Green Bay. You would think after 5 straight years of bad offensive play that he would open to just about anything from the spread to the wishbone.

How could anyone possibly know this? A meeting like that would, and probably did, take place between Byrne and Croom. Nobody else on God's green earth knows what happened there, unless if one of them is talking, and I doubt that.
Now Croom probably did burn the redshirt as a response to said meeting... but I call BS on Croom walking out, this just sounds like one of those perfect internet rumors.
