Thad has been fading the past few years. He has brought the bacon home for a long time, but I think it may be time for him to go rock on the porch and fart occasionally.

I have no problem with your scenario involving Keenum, my wife grew up with him and says he is good people, plus he has the DC experience.

ETA: WTF?

You post a solid piece of internet gossip and then delete it? The whole rumor about Cochran stepping down and Haley appointing Keenum?

believe that Cochran might step down. However, you can take it to the bank that Keenum will not be the appointee.

Haley has always had his eye on the senate. I believe that he would have appointed himself when Lott stepped down if he did not already have an idea that Thad would on stick around for a couple of years. Thad only ran the last time because of Lott stepping down the same year.

Not that he will win, but he will have a very large say on who does, and could possibly find himself on the ticket. He is raising money like there is no tomorrow, and has a nationwide network unlike any other candidate out there. Plus, I dont see Haley fooling around in the Senate; he needs to be in charge.

gets into the pres race, its because he thinks he can win. and if he thinks he can win, i wouldn't bet against him. the guy is a political genius. i've known him since college and he has always just understood what's really going on and how to work it.

Has this been mentioned in any other publication? After all, we do have a track record of reporting Senate resignations before anyone else.

The dems dream of running against Barbour. He has some quotes from the past that would kill him off pretty quickly. If the GOP chooses Barbour that will show that they learned nothing from the Palin experiment.
