He was great when he was in Morgantown but he’s 70 now. I truly just want to win again. Whoever gives us the best chance of winning I’m all in!!!
I guess my question is this:

Are we hiring a guy for the future or are we hiring a guy to keep NEXT YEAR's team together?

If we end up hiring Beilein then it probably means we are actually hiring Patrick Beilein for the long term, with John here to try and wrangle back in the portal crew.

I don't care at this point. Whoever it falls to...If he has players commit a foul 30 ft from the basket with under 10 seconds on the shot clock...I hope he sits those guys so far at the end of the bench that they're in another zip code..too many times last year with several players

If they end up hiring Eilert then he should be fired cause could have done this 7 days ago. Scrapped this season as they looked for a coach for an entire year.

I don’t disagree. However, we don’t know what these other candidates demanded that Baker wasn’t willing to concede.

The names being juggled constantly...
John Beilien
Andy Kennedy
Josh Eilert

Back and forth. Hope we are not playing a dangerous bidding war game with these 3.

WVU is in no position to be in a bidding war. The candidates know we need a coach, and our desperation is their bargaining chip. No doubt every candidate is driving their own price up with each day that passes.

I say if naming Eilert keeps the team together, go for it. I also do not like the rumors that Beilein wants two years, and then Patrick to follow him up as head coach.....do not like that at all.

I seriously doubt that Eilert is driving his price up.

He has no leverage.

Hiring Eilert may bring a couple of players back from the portal, at least that's what I'm hearing.
And Beilein wouldn’t? Before he tripped up, Patrick was on his way to a great coaching career. To me it’s a win-win. We get the best guy available now and it’s gives Patrick a couple years to complete his redemption arc. If he’s the guy it will be obvious by then. If he is not, it will be equally obvious.

That being said, I would go with Eilert if JB doesn’t sign on.
