don't be surprised when it happens. Freeze is probably looking as his kiddie contract compared to all the other SEC coaches, and thinking he can do a whole lot better.

My sources are telling me that

Mrs. Freeze hates it in Oxford and wants out when a decent or better program comes calling.

I know this is a joke, but I expect his name to start surfacing soon

There's too many programs looking for coaches and not enough Gruden pipe dreams to go around for all of them. One they get past the unrealistic hires, they will start thinking about Freeze getting OM from 2-10 to 6-6 in one season while playing solid ball with a limited roster.

The funny part will be that MSU fans will be the first to state that he hasn't really done anything while quietly crossing their fingers that he does leave. I'll admit it, I'd love to see him leave. I think he has a ton of upside and it would be a punch it the gut to their fan base now that there is a reason for them to finally be optimistic about their future.

I would not be surprised to see him jump to a school like NC State, or Missouri. A bigger school with a better future. It seems like he might get "stuck" at Ole Miss if he doesn't jump ship next season. That's assuming they have another winning season.

It won't this year. If he can get to 8 in the next two seasons, he'll be as hot as Mullen was/is or Franklin, purely because of the national perception of the program he's at.

So the story goes - i.e., take this as you will - Freeze was pushed over the top in the hiring process because he displayed a strong vocal commitment to being there for a long time. Now, in this business that's worth the internet paper it's written on, but I do think he wants to spend a good amount of time in Oxford. We'll see.

Normally, I would agree with that.

This year is a crazy year with coaching changes. There's a ton of activity with solid programs. He could easily be on a list or two. Of course, as you stated, he simply may be an OM guy and will turn down anything that comes his way. Once folks have some time to process what happened this season, his name goes in the hat...

After what he has done this year, I think he would be downright scary at UT or Ark

I think he prefers the SEC

I'm talking if a bigger/better program came calling. Like Colorado, Texas Tech, NC State, Missouri, Wake Forrest. Someone like that

If I'm Hugh, either Ole Miss ponies up $3M a year starting tomorrow or I'm looking. I still can't believe the contract he was offered and signed. Either he wants to be at ole miss or he's using it as a springboard.

I heard she hated it primarily because they only have one grocery store. And no Target. When she gets to Arkansas, she'll have her pick of all the Wal Marts ... Target is banned in the state.

And he was a hair's breadth away from 8-4 ... Vanderbilt and A&M. He really did a remarkable job. Not sure if it was good coaching, or just not being Nutt and giving the already good players a reason for optimism. And getting Wallace didn't hurt.

He's going to do a whole lot better at Mississippi in a few weeks. I expect to see him get a substantial raise and extension.

Freeze did a very good job and I got slammed on here for pointing that out

earlier in the season by some of the posters. If he had not landed Wallace the story would have been much different but he did and that's that. The other factor was Wommack's scheme, which was basically Joe Lee Dunnish with him bringing pressure almost every play from a different place. I'm not sure the Wommack scheme is sustainable as we saw with Joe Lee Dunn but it worked very well this year as they went for broke with some good quick, motivated athletes and it paid off. It worked well enough to keep Freeze's good offense within striking distance most of the time and worked quite well against equal or inferior teams.

There is no doubt Freeze knows what he is doing but as others have pointed out he won't be sneaking up on anyone next year and that will make a difference.

The one thing is Freeze did get Auburn and Ark wins just like us. Don't know if we could of beat them
on our field but a loss is still a loss...I agree he did pull a monkey out of his *** this year. I would not expect next year to be any walk in the park for them or us...
