never know what or if they could have been anything under Mullen. Mullen is a great coach, in that he tells it like it is, and believes in hard work and earning your spot. We might lose out on some recruits due to that, but I will take the 3 star with potential and the intangibles over the highly decorated recruit that has natural ability, size, and speed that has really never had to work hard anyday of the week. I know that that last statement has been made by several on this board, but at the end of the day, OM seems to suffer the most on "winning the recruiting season", then we do. Another perfect example, would be Georgia. They have had some really nice classes over the last several years, but have suffered from a lot of off the field issues over the last 24-36 months.
It's hard to tell a kid's character right off the bat, but if a coach really does his homework they can find out a lot about a kid in 12-24 months. I am not saying that CJ and Singleton won't be good in the future, but in Singleton's case, that's just one distraction that the coaches and players don't have time to deal with, plus it shows that TS cares more about himself then he does his team mates. Of course, this depends solely on IF this is true.
