So I just got in with my high dollar escort and Woodhouse just told me that the espn is going to try their hardest to make our game v TAMU the ESPN prime time game if we are 7-1 or 8-0 going into that game setting the stage for College Gameday to roll into town...the sites on campus they're looking to set up at are either the amphitheater or on the drill field in front Swalm..Woodhouse knows his **** so I'm buying this rumor like Pam at a Krispy Kreme

Alabama/LSU, Oregon/USC, TCU/UWV

are all that same weekend - 2 national title elimination games, and the Heisman front runner in a potential top 10 matchup. We'd be a distant 4th choice unless we upset Bama and aTm upsets LSU. Not happening.

No chance, unless we're 8-0 and Texas A&M is 8-1, and even then unlikely. If we're ranked #1 then it would probably be us.

CBS will get Bammer-LSU, so they are out. I cant see us getting chosen over Oregon-USC- but I can see how we would be one of the choices for that day

Last year Gameday was there for the Bammer-LSU CBS game.

Have they changed policy to only go to ESPN and ABC games now, because I know they've done CBS in the past.

Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't CBS put LSU/Bama at night

So therefore all other SEC games must be played at 11:20 or 2:00, in order to not compete with it?

That is correct. One of the few State games that I watched all of 10 minutes of before leaving and watching Bama-LSU

I think there's a chance GameDay could be in Tuscaloosa for the MSU game... chief competition would be the Cocktail Party and N Dame at Okie...

UGA could lose at SC and Florida could lose to LSU...

If we go 14-0 this year we still wouldn't finish #1.

You couldn't be more wrong. If we're 8-0 after beating Bama, we'd be around 10th or 12th. If we finish the regular season 12-0, we'd be around 5th. Winning the SEC Championship game against the East team, who the media loves this year, would put us in the BCS Championship game.

I don't think any of this happens, but I can't stand the "woe is me" argument that even if we go undefeated, that we wouldn't play in the championship game. Going 14-0 means beating 3 of the top 5 teams in the country.

actually, yall would be higher....

over the next 2 weeks, there are 6 games where both teams will be ranked above MSU... that's 4-6 spots feasible there, putting yall at 13-15 going in to the bama game... yall upset Bammer and yall are staring at #8 to #10 and 8-0.

If we go 14-0, I am declaring a national championship no matter what anybody else says. And I'd urge Stricklin to do the same. Hang a banner and all that.

There's also...

Michigan at Nebraska
Texas Tech at K-State
TCU at OK ST
USC at Arizona
OR St at Washington

Along with ND at OK and SC/UF those are all games between currently ranked opponents. There's also Ohio St and Penn St.

My bet is they'll be in Jacksonville if both are undefeated.

If ANY TEAM that is undefeated goes into Tuscaloosa and wins, they should be #1 until they are beaten. Period. You win at #1's place, you are #1. It's that simple.

aTm could certainly beat LSU and, if the best Bama can do against OM is +19 and they keep getting knee injuries, I think that we have a chance, if we are 7-0 going in. (Of course, I have been a State fan since 1963 and was at the Bama game in 1980, so am eternally positive)

Y'all need to stop with that. It is simply a matter of being motivated. I thought Saban was right on with his postgame comments.

http://www.al.com/alabamafootball/index.ssf/2012/09/alabama_vs_ole_miss_nick_saban.html#incart_river

I don't get your point. Could not Saban's comments apply to State after the Troy and South Alabama games? The fact is, we will be motivated against Alabama if we are 7-0. The question is, will Bama be looking toward LSU the following weekend? By saying "Y'all need to stop with that", do you mean that we should just accept that we can't win?

I'm wasn't making any points about MSU. I am saying that Alabama shouldn't be judged for style points, or lack of, against Mississippi.

And yes you could say the same thing about us against Troy. And Team USA. And Jackson State. Although the "unmotivated" argument is harder to make considering we've been "unmotivated" in 3 out of 4 games. I know we can play better. Fingers crossed.

Okay, understand your point. You really can't look at how team A plays against team B to see how it will play against team C. My fingers are perpetually crossed.

Undefeated Oregon, FSU, KSU, Notre Dame, WVU, Texas, and TCU all...

get in before an undefeated MSU does. No sense arguing this point cause it ain't happening.

Let's use our brain for a second. West Virginia, Texas, KSU, and TCU, all play each other. So at best, only one comes out undefeated.

Notre Dame doesn't play a championship game, plus they have to get past Stanford, Oklahoma, and USC.

Florida State and Oregon have the best chance out of this group to go undefeated, but Oregon will have to beat another PAC 12 power twice to do so.

We will play for the title at 13-0. An undefeated Florida State team will be well below us in the computer rankings, and the human rankings would be about split. It's possible, but unlikely, we could end up 3rd behind an undefeated Oregon and an undefeated Texas, but that's the only combo that could do it, and both will probably lose at least once, and it's still unlikely with the pro-SEC "bias" (I don't mean that negatively) that the voters tend to have.

The only way we would not be number 1 in the nation after beating Bama in Tuscaloosa would be if Georgia, South Carolina, Florida, or LSU were ranked 1st. I do not give a **** about FSU, West Virginia, Oregon, or Notre Dame there is no way they can't have an undefeated SEC team that late in the season ranked 1st. If you think we were to run the table and win the SEC with a perfect record and still not make it into the national title game then you have a serious inferiority issue. Theres not one team in the SEC that would be denied a trip to the national title game under those circumstances.

Alabama's problem had as much to do with Ole Miss daring McCarron to pass the ball more than 5 yards down field, which he cannot do. Ole Miss was loading the box against the run and it worked to an extent.

Yes it is hard to be motivated for Ole Miss, but if they had to rely on McCarron to get them down the field I believe they will have a problem winning.

McCarron has the 2nd highest QB rating in the SEC. And he ranks 6th in passing, mostly because they only need him to be a passing threat to keep defenses honest. Yeah, Mississippi wasn't honest and how did that work out for them.

McCarron is a MUCH bigger down field passing threat than you think. His decision making and accuracy are both excellent and his arm is more than strong enough... Saban kept him on a leash up until BCSNCCG2012 and AJ is still testing his "boundaries"...

Agreed. McCarron is a very underrated QB. Best QB Bama has had in a long time.
