getting destroyed by the NCAA beyond this year. However, they can kiss this season goodbye and go 17 themselves. If everything we are hearing from our camp is true, I just can't see how there wasn't something dirty going down at Auburn - it may never be discovered, but for them to come in and sign him that late in the game is way too conspicuous - it always was. Thus, Auburn (well, mainly Cecil) stole a QB from us who wanted to play for us and possibly cost us a shot at Atlanta.

to admit soliciting MSU and deny any payment from Auburn. Auburn would then lose this season but maybe not incur additional penalties etc. I think Auburn would be ill advised to encourage him to do something like that with the FBI involved.</p>

I guess, but I would imagine that Cecil would have a hard time convincing the NCAA that Cam had no knowledge of the situation. Its not like Cecil is some distant cousin, or great uncle by marriage, or a HS coach (Albert Means); he is Cam's dad.
Plus, there is the little quote floating around that Cam called a MSU "recruiter" to apologize for picking AU, but the money was just too much. If, IF, any kind of evidence can be provided to establish that quote, then this possible scenario blows up.

So to say Cam could somehow avoid any consequences on this by a school being solicited not by Cam but by the guy who had the power to decide where Cam would play is beyond ridiculous. If he was to get by with that he would have laid a golden blueprint for all recruits in the future on how to skirt the rules. Get a family member to negotiate your deal and then claim ignorance and you are good to go.
