My point was isn't this the first verification that some type of investigation is actually happening or has happened.
Thanks for clarifying.

Yes, I believe it is. About what, who knows. Could be just the alleged surreptitious Snap pic postings or oil checks.

My point was SafeSport seems to have a low bar for complaints and doesn't seem to provide details, before, during, or after.

Not trying to be argumentative here but arent the pic postings a crime?

Everyone needs to realize Carl doesn't "run the program" at psu. If you have ever met and talked with Carl, you know he isn't the sharpest tool in the drawer. His slimy brother Cody is the one who makes the decisions with the program. Obviously, Carl was the best wrestler out of the family and is the face of psu wrestling and has been a big recruiting tool for them. But when the rules are manipulated, when there is a blind eye to incidents within the program, Cody is the one behind it. I honestly hope they all get what is coming to them because they have not run a "clean program" for a lot of years.

Need evidence to prosecute a crime. Also need prosecuturial will and someone pressing charges.

Do you know of a criminal complaint that has been filed by a victim? Some people around here are pretty good at finding those kinds of public records, no?

Since I haven't seen any posted, I will assume they don't exist until I do.

When it comes to SafeSport, I've really no idea what it takes to have someone's name get posted on its website.

Yes. Imagine the Bartletts, if they have evidence, may want to go the civil court route for compensation damages.

Starocci is good to go. Remember everyone.. innocent until proven guilty. The Penn State fans want us to know that. Make sure you understand what that means!

If you click on the link below there is information from a previous post of mine for the criteria SafeSport uses for taking a complaint, the process, etc. I also included the list mentioned in the post:

Yes, and how would you assess the threshold? I read others assessments. What's yours?

I mean, I read that thread too.

You copied stuff. What's your analysis of it? What may be potentially applicable, in your mind?

One may report simply if they suspect, as I read the "Report Here" imperative.

Was what was reported bullying or sexual misconduct? You think child abuse?

Would you be good to go if you were the subject of the allegations? If they were true? How about if they were false?

Would you be good to go if suspended from USA Wrestling via SafeSport based on a suspicion? If the suspicion were true? How about if it was false?

Answer truthfully and you may understand why your earlier question was idiotic.

As to the specific question of what was reported, I have no clue. It could literally be a third party complaint of rape to a complaint of the "oil checks" and ball grabs mentioned in the school newspaper article. It reads like anyone can make a complaint to SafeSport. The criteria USAW cites for an athlete to be placed on their list reads as, "placement on this list only means that a complaint has been filed and is awaiting resolution." At this point the details of any complaint and/or subsequent investigations are unknown to us wrestling fans. And given that neither USAW or SafeSport conduct criminal investigations, we may never get any future details when they finish their "investigations". Unless a police report(s) is filed regarding any instances of SA then I am afraid us wrestling fans will be as in the dark at the end of these accusations as we are now.

I've always heard Cunningham is the brains of the operation with Cody being a key piece and Cael is the name and figurehead. Assuming Beau is telling the truth, and I have no reason to believe he isn't, all three need to be tossed on the street.

Seems like the mods here need to tighten things up. Many Penn St fans come here to cause problems.

So, why go to safesport? Would it necessarily have to be sa allegations to involve the police? There were allegedly inappropriate pictures posted and things stolen as well.
Who filed a complaint with SafeSport? Why? IDK. Maybe to get some satisfaction yet unmet. The bar seems low enough as suspicion of a violation.

SafeSport considers bullying/hazing, which certainly some of the allegations could fit in.

The alleged SA was of non-wresters. I don't believe pics were SA. If so, what role would SafeSport have with the SA allegations?

Theft is a crime that doesn't seem covered by SafeSport, but I guess could be considered part of hazing/bullying.

Snap pics disappear if not screen grabbed. So there's a question whether evidence exists to pursue as criminal. Still, this would seem to require a victim pressing charges.

Maybe oil checking on the mat would be a safe sport thing?

Mark Schwab oil checked me at a clinic while showing technique several years ago. Was a little offended he didn’t call the next day.
Wrestlers know the difference between a butt drag and intentional assault as Bartlett and apparently others experienced from Carter. And it's absolutely sexual assault if he was intentionally crossing that line.

I agree. If he was. But we don't know what the SafeSport complaint is.

I think the only comment from Cael so far is "he was a great wrestler at PSU and we wish him well", not even sure if that was to Bartlett or the puke. Silence says he has either lawyered up or PSU has told him to keep his trap shut. I think he knows he will be testifying at some point.
