Finebaum is suggesting that Tom Izzo has been offered. So, I guess Saban is recruiting the f'n basketball coach now?

That would be a major step down for Izzo.

His agent must want to get him a raise.

and Finebaum needs to generate traffic. I can't believe Izzo would even sniff at such a demotion.

Here is what he talked about after the Super Bowl, "Karlos Dansby announced his High School instead of saying "Auburn University", so he spent 20 minutes railing on AU that Dansby clearly hates AU and how AU fans must be pissed that Dansby disrespected their school and their chance for free publicity.

I thought it was ridiculous, then it got even more ridiculous when he stated that he remembered a few years ago when the Steelers were playing the SeaHawks and Deshea Townsend announced his alma mater as "University of the South", which Finebaum stated everyone knew meant Alabama. He kept going on and on about how Townsend was representing Alabama proud, and that is how their graduates treat Alabama.

Best part of all this is that Deshea Townsend didn't say University of the South, he said University of South Panola. The dumbf@ck didn't even realize this. Im not sure if a caller, brought this to his attention, but it showed what an idiot he was.

law, but i seem to remember the NFL wanting to stop players from using their colleges in the introductions, unless they had actually graduated from there. they could say the name of the highest institute that they had graduated from. so, i'm guessing thats why some of they guys used high school b/c they hadnt finished college.
i guess its some kind of PR move to try and get their employees (players) to finish school, so it looks better to the kids...

edited for spelling

but I think this rumor is damn close. The ONLY reason it's gotten any traction at all is because of the Michigan State/Izzo-Saban friendship angle. I just cannot see Izzo leaving a basketball school.

And he's never (I don't think) been anywhere other than the state of Michigan. I don't think Alabama will throw the kind of money at a basketball coach that MSU won't match.

Calipari, on the other hand....

But, then again, I've been wrong before.

Tom Izzo would have to be nuts to come down here and play 2nd fiddle to his boy Saban. He is set at MSU and will retire there, book it. Finebaum just stirring the pot.
