...way too early to reach that conclusion. Give me a break. He will work into a comfort zone and do well.

If you say so. It's not too early to see him staring down receivers and making bad passes.

We better see The Beast...

A good bit this game. I want to see what he's got in a real game.

First home game I've missed in 5 years. Damn Hurricane. Glad I have AT&T internet. Otherwise I wouldn't be able to watch. Cable still out but DSL working.

Disagree....He is putting the ball exactly where it needs to be. The problem is our receivers are having trouble getting separation.

Hell... if you're going to throw it into double coverage, you need to put it in a position where the receiver has the best chance to catch it. Did he not do that?

I wonder how much we are saving for Auburn on defense.

Offensively, it seems like our offensive line letting a lot of defenders into the backfield. We've got time to tighten that up.

What would you prefer him do if nobody is wide-open play after play? He hasn't thrown a pick yet and he is completing some of those that he's throwing into double coverage. I'm sure you'd be the first one to complain if he kept pulling it down and running it or kept throwing the ball away, too. It's one thing if he keeps turning it over or if he is making the wrong reads and missing wide open WRs, but he is making some damn good throws to covered WRs.

What AL said. It seemed like every pass, JState had a defender on the hip of the receiver. I am more concerned about that.

The right read is to throw to a receiver in double coverage?

Truth is, you can't get much out of this game but if he tempts fate next week then the picks will be aplenty.

I agree with the op to a degree. It looks like Tyler decides where he is going to throw it on the pre snap read only. That works vs JSU but nobody worth a ****. JSU will be the 2nd worse secondary we see this year and there were way too many close calls. I'm worried

Thanks dumbasses, I appreciate it!

15/23 with 1 drop, 1 no-call pass interference (or at least defensive holding), and 1 receiver slipping on a comeback route. As it stood he had over 65% completion rate with 2 TDs and no turnovers with 175 yards playing the most vanilla offensive plays that we will run all season. If the plays that were out of his control had gone the other way, he would have been 17/22, over 77% completion rate with 2 TDs and 200 yards easily. But if my aunt had a dick, she would be my uncle.

I haven't seen anyone mention the beautiful pass that he made with the 315lb D-lineman in his face for a first down over the middle. That play showed me that he is way more poised than he was a year ago against LSU. His poise is better but I agree with a lot of people that he has to be quicker at times, most notably shown by the play that he threw up to Green on the sideline as #14 hit him. If he had made the throw about a half a second earlier it would have been a huge gain and beautiful pass. He really needs to work on getting rid of the ball sooner in those situations and hitting the guy in stride rather than making it an unnecessary jump ball because he was getting hit as he threw it.

His stats were fine, that doesn't prove anything. He was on the Heisman watch after Memphis last year. JSU was horrible. Also, a simplified offense means simplified reads. Tyler threw into dbl and triple coverage like that is what your supposed to do. I wouldn't say he regressed but he probably hasn't made this huge jump like we wanted. I'm rooting for him and hoping I'm wrong

He ate a new hotdog before the game so he wasn't feeling well. He'll be better next week!

I saw where he had spread it around to 8 receivers by halftime. It kind of makes you wonder if he was attempting to get the ball into everyone's hands that he could. Not an excuse just a thought that passed through my mind after I heard the stat.

I agree that he definitely threw it into some coverages that he shouldn't have, but the guy knew he was playing Jackson State just like we all did watching the game. I wouldn't watch that and say he is habitually throwing it into double and triple coverage. Now this week if he is reeling in that cockiness or stupidity then there will be picks. But I hold back my judgment until he is put in a realistic situation.
