Hope they don't get too let down when we whip that ***. http://www.thenewsstar.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080717/SPORTS/80716028/1006

"Buskirk could not disclose specific sales figures, but said ticket sales for Tech's Aug. 30 season opener against Mississippi State have been especially strong.

Tickets for that game, which will mark the first time an SEC team has played at Joe Aillet Stadium, are $40 for adults and $20 for children ages 4-12.

"There hasn't been a conversation that hasn't involved the Mississippi State game," Buskirk said. "There's a lot of excitement overall, but the hot button is Mississippi State.

I think we will be pretty good this year, but NOWHERE have I seen Croom have the ability to go whipping folks' ***, or run up the score. We only beat Gardner Webb by 16 points.

We'll probably win 20-10 or something.

I want 45-0 embarrassment to them like we enjoyed from LSU last year. I'm sick of being shutout in home openers. We now have been shutout by South Carolina and LSU its getting disgusting

I cant wait till we go out and explode for 20 points on their ***.

I bet you are hoping and praying that it happens just so you can come back here and run your mouth. But hey, as long as LSU does well you will be happy

A win is a win, and I won't be picky.

</p>That is until we realize that our defense isn't carrying us in SEC games again. Our perennial lack of offense has always had a way of biting us in the *** at some point, and it usually doesn't take a break for more than a season or two at the most.

I hate to admit it as much as anybody else, but LaTech isn't the same as Southeastern LA- they're (LaTech) a legit team. I know for a fact the coaching staff is a little worried about this game. Now I would hope they worry about every game, cuz that's what they're paid to do, I'm just saying- don't go crying doom and despair when we win 10-7.

That is all I am expecting. 10 to 17 offensive points....unless we get a turnover deep in their territory or a kick return. Hope they surprise us though.</p>

I agree that you shouldn't have any trouble with the game, but La. Tech did take Hawaii to OT last year. Of course, we also beat them 24-0, but you're right that they aren't on the same level of pushover as SELA.

I think we win by atleast 10...and I realize it's Ruston and it's not everyone's favorite vacation destination but I say we still bring a large crowd

actually lose this game. I know we shouldn't but it is possible and what a disaster would that be. Ok...I don't think we'll lose but just a nagging fear. I predict 27-10 MState wins.

is notorious for playing poorly on the mainland.

And to others- yes, I'm very worried about this game.

I agree, and like I said, I don't think you should have trouble with this game. However, La. Tech is not quite as much of a pushover as some others.

Also, it's a season opener, which can be a mixed bag, and obviously this game is a bigger deal to the La. Tech fans and players than it is to the MSU fans and players. That's always trouble.

Personally for me I'd rather open with a D-1AA opponent every year if possible, just to be sure you've got a live action scrimmage of sorts to get you into the swing of the season.

because there are about 0 players left on this team that lost to Maine. It's stupid posts like this that make me want to play Maine again just to put a stop to someone bringing up the Maine game every time we play Podunk U.</p>

I'll be sure to bring my pads and helmet to Ruston. Won't let that happen again, dadgummit. As soon as I see a player that graduated four years ago fumble into the endzone, I'm gonna jump the fence and yell, "Put me in coach! I ain't lettin that Maine game happen again!!"

Of course, if we win, I'll be sure to say, "Let's not let Tech 'n 10 happen again neither. Yeeboy!"</p>
