announcers noted pre-game Cliff is under 50% (48?) on layups.…..on layups tonight
Lol
The thing is, once he gets the ball down low, he NEVER passes it back out if there’s nothing there. Allows teams to collapse on him.The play that summed up this game for me was when they got the ball to Cliff in the post in the 2nd half, but he was in poor position and really didn’t have a real opportunity to score, and everyone else was just standing around, so he forced up a bad shot and missed.
Actually, I believe 5-17, which is 29%. We usually shoot 72%. Talk about choke job.And FTs
Agree 100% and what about the shot from about 12 feet when he took some sort of hook shotThe thing is, once he gets the ball down low, he NEVER passes it back out if there’s nothing there. Allows teams to collapse on him.
He was looking for someone to pass the ball to, and the rest of the team just stood around and didn't make an effort to get open. The thing is, once he gets the ball down low, he NEVER passes it back out if there’s nothing there. Allows teams to collapse on him.

Yeah, I was off by one. So, instead of a 72% FT shooting team shooting 29%, we actually shot 31%. Atrocious, just atrocious.Box said 5-16.... so we were better from the FT line than the layup line.
Honestly, though, some of those layup attempts were prayers.
"Omoruyi is 48-of-100 on layups this season, per Synergy. That ranks dead-last among the 14 Big Ten players who attempted at least 100 layups, and by a significant margin; the closest player is Wisconsin’s Tyler Wahl, who is shooting 52.3% (67-of-128) on the year." https://www.nj.com/rutgersbasketbal...ncern-3-for-optimism-as-march-approaches.htmlannouncers noted pre-game Cliff is under 50% (48?) on layups.
This one baffled me. What happened to his mid range jumper from earlier this year. Shooting face up to the basket at least has a prayer of going inAgree 100% and what about the shot from about 12 feet when he took some sort of hook shot
