I honestly think we have a shot against everyone on our schedule except UM and PSU. OSU's offense looks very average.
Never say never but against an “unbeatable” michigan team last year we had the lead at halftime with the worst offense in College football. Don’t throw 3 picks in a row this year and who knows. Plus, Harbo’s first game back, players could be overly emotional, he could call stupid things, theyre used to gameday now under one way and he’ll come in and maybe do some things different that cod throw them off. Plus they’ve only played cupcake defenses so far

OSU has the two best receivers in college football.
But an average QB who I bet will make mistakes when pressured.

We're obviously going to be double digit dogs but it will be our best shot at upsetting them then we've ever had.

If you want to build hype in the tristate area, there's no better way to do it then upset Ohio State at home.

I expect a very tight game against VT. Temple stuffed the ground game until they got worn out. I believe VT has better front 7 talent and depth than Temple. Can GW win a game passing ?

This is a 20-17 game, could go either way.

At what point in the match exactly did Temple “stuff” our run game? Are you talking about stopping us on one drive backed deep in our own end zone at the 3? I think you have it confused - we stuffed them on the previous possession.

Geez - you don’t have to like Schiano but stop making crap up. The run game was fine pretty much the whole game besides that drive.

We ran for over 100 yards in the first half and we didn’t punt once. On the first drive of Q3 the run game was executed perfectly - we grinding out a 1st down after 4 yard and 6 yard pick ups. Nothing wrong with the 3 yard pick up either on the next first down play. The drive stalled because Gavin overthrew on 2nd and 7 and then pass protection failed on the next play (Temple’s only sack I think). But that wasn’t on the run game.

In the only other punt of the game, we were successful in 2 of 3 run plays going for 6 yards and then 5 yards. We then had ONE OL breakdown resulting in a 4 yards loss on a KM run (you call stopping us on one play “stuffing our run game”?). Come on man. You sound ridiculous.

Has GW thrown over the middle just one time yet ? Not that I recall. HC and OC don’t trust him. Temple’s D hung tough at 13-7 and we had a few 3 and outs running the ball in Q3 iirc.

In the end, Temple was gassed and overmatched just like we often are against better teams. I think VT will be very tight, best opponent of the three to start the season.

We had EXACTLY ONE 3 and out in the whole game. Only the drive that we started at our own 3.

Ok, so I was wrong about that. Seemed like the offense bogged down for most Q2 and half of Q3. Not accurate ?

That’s not what you said.

You said that our RUN GAME was stuffed until it was worn down late in the game. This is a very inaccurate statement.

Also - in the second quarter we were only on offense for 2 series. First we went 66 yards on a 10 play drive starting at our own 9 for a FG. Then we got the ball back with 1:22 to play we went 30 yards before running out of time for anything but a few Hail Mary types. Our offense didn’t exactly get shut down that quarter either…

What I meant to say was, it wasn’t effective for a long stretch in the middle of the game (yes, stuffed) until Temple’s D got worn down, and I don’t see that happening to a P5 defense playing us. We will see if GW can make up the slack

You are wrong. Our run game was effective the entire game except for that one 3 and out drive where typical GS played to avoid the pick 6 / safety.

No team scores a TD on every single drive. We moved the ball just fine in the second quarter. We didn’t punt once until Q3 and only punted 3 times in the whole game.

Ok, I didn’t see it that way. You’re harping on the wrong point. I’m sure you agree we won’t run as well against VT and GW will need to show more in order to win.

Wrong like all your other predictions. This won’t be tight.
Double digit RU victory.
Temple’s QB is better than VT .. and VT’s running game is not so good.

What point should we focus on? That’s pretty much the only thing you said - that our run game got stuffed until we wore Temple down at the end but VTech has more depth.

But literally the opposite of that statement is true. We actually collected more yards in the first half - 244 of our 452 yards (54%). A combination of sloppiness, bad luck and untimely miscues resulted in us putting up less points than we should have in that half but it wasn’t because we had trouble moving the ball against Temple.

As long as Michael Vick doesn’t line up at the QB position I think we pull this one out.

They've given up 190 yds. rushing per game against Old Dominion and Purdue.

All I know is they will attempt to load up in the box figuring Gavin will implode somehow but… this game I do expect Kirk to involve the TE’s Bowman and Langan with Jackson, Washington and Strong along with a steady flow of speed and power from the RB’s.

need to put you on ignore as you've enter Al zone
The conference is weak this year. Have you watched Ohio State play? Wisconsin? Iowa? MSU? Not impressed. Not saying we're going to win all those games but we have a better chance than any other year in the conference.

Only elite teams are PSU and UM.

I agree that this year is the best chance to keep OSU from putting up a lot of points. It will also be OSU’s second road game in a row.

Some early money on RU as the line ballooned to -6.5.
See Virginia Tech injuries last week. WR #1 done for the year, QB #1 more than likely out, WR #2 with a hamstring doubtful. We've been on the other end of this way too often.

That’s not what you said.
That's what he does. He makes ridiculous statements and contributes nothing to any discussion. A couple of weeks ago he said that against most FCS teams we would be in pick 'em games. MOST. That means if we played Columbia, it would be a toss up,
I stopped responding to him and he's made a pretty exclusive list.

VT. Had 11 yards rushing vs Purdue and gave up 180 rushing yards. Right up our alley. Challenge is can our D keep them under the 11 yards while our RBs put up 200+. I see the game playing out similar to first 2 games- we go up 15-20 by the half and win by that margin.

Mostly you just trash talked the guy who predicted our offense would put up 50 points. Meanwhile if not for those fumbles going Temple’s way we probably would have come close.
