If Flood is kept or not, I would LOVE the Pinstripe this year. Knowing that the B1G doesn't like giving out the same bowl repeatedly, I want the Pinstripe when its our consolation prize I certainly don't want it after a successful year.

this assumes that at least a 5-7 record is achieved.... which is not at all a sure thing

Pinstripe vs ACC team. The latest ESPN ACC blogger projection for the ACC team in that bowl is the good old Pittsburgh Panthers. CBS is predicting Duke to the Pinstripe.

The negative media spin, especially locally, would make a 5-7 bowl appearance not worth the aggravation.

Yes, the practice time is a big deal, but we'll get hammered locally for 3 straight weeks--no fault of our own, but it will still happen.

sorry, they don't take a 4 win team or just as likely a 3 win team to any bowl.

Not to sound like a broken record, but, I will never set foot in that building again for the purpose of watching a football game. I don't care who's playing or what the context might be.

How's this for a freaking idea. How about we play football in a freaking football stadium?

I know, I know. What kind of freaking idea is that. Football in a freaking football stadium - what a dumb freaking idea.

Agree. Except for the 5-7 part. Much fault there.

Please tell me those are sarcastic exclamation points OP lol.

Bowls do not equal success any more.

Much more significantly, Flood is going to have his second losing season - out of four - this season.

Yes, the sarcasm was intended. I would be surprised if a 1,000 RU fans paid to go to that bowl game.

Paid? Paid? We could be 12-0 and be coached by Urban Meyer who's starting a young Peyton Manning at QB and I wouldn't go to another FB game in Yankee stadium if you paid me.

Not to mention, and I didn't watch it last year so maybe it's not a problem anymore, but they have had years to figure out the turf problem. But every year, the turf is getting torn up and flying around to the point that it's pretty much a hazard for the players.

I actually liked the pinstripe bowl! Its fun - easy to get to.

If RU is 6-6 Im not gonna shell out $1000+ to fly somewhere to see them. No thanks. The Pinstripe Bowl is good for RU at 6-6 (which I dont think they are gonna get to! dont harp on that point).

Perhaps I have low standards but getting into any bowl would be something and going to the Steinbrenner Bowl is not beneath my station.

Sorry, I guess candy isn't the only thing you are not well versed in.
1956 NFL Championship Game Dec.30th.
1958 NFL Championship Game Dec. 28th
1962 NFL Championship Game Dec. 30th

Three mildly important games that come to mind.

Because Nebraska has the chance to get just as hammered by MSU as we do by Michigan. And we are at home. Their meltdown is more high profile, so the bettors might tend to side AGAINST them more. I mean they lost to Purdue - at least we BEAT Indiana.

WIth MD, they still have the chance to get hammered by Wisconsin and MSU, and frankly - they could lose to Indiana too (similar to ours - it would be a shoot out.) If they lose big to Wisconsin and MSU, and we beat Nebraska and Army, I think we would be favored at home on senior day playing for a bowl against a 2 or 3 win MD just playing out the string until they get a new HC (plus bettors will remember last year.)

Just saying - its no impossible to conjure a plausivle scenario for either (espeically MD).

Forgot about how terrible that turf was. ND would've beaten us by at least another TD if it wasn't for the turf monster.

Der..forget the bettors. They don't play nor coach. Given what we have seen etc it's a tough road ahead especially if KF and staff stick with the same old stuff. Maybe something new in the way of spreading the field, changing some personnel or defensive philosophy might help.

Irrespective of the location, I'm not interested in watching a 5-7 team play in a bowl game. Given the current remaining scheduled and coaching trends to date, though, achieving a 5-7 record would likely amount to a minor miracle.

My God people us getting "rewarded" to play in THAT game, after a debacle of a 5-7 season, with the off-field crap along with it, would be a f*cking PR nightmare and NOBODY would attend it.

Anyone "wanting" this makes me SMH.

(* BTW I'm nowhere close to being sold us reaching 5 wins...)

Dear Santa

I'm sorry about all the bad things I said about HCKF. Besides that I was good, could you please give RU the Pinstripe Bowl and allow the new coach to be leading the team out of the tunnel that day?

Thanks Big Guy

This. The Stadium is a joke as a Football venue. I have seen all the RU games there and WILL NOT go back in December. Especially to watch a 5-7 Elmer Fuddrutgers coached team.

The more football the better. They could go to a bowl with only 3 wins & I would still watch-& so would the rest of you phonies
Never said I wouldn't watch. Just said I won't go to the game.

I went one time (the game where Khaseem Greene got hurt) and I'll never be back. Watching on TV is just a much better experience than watching in that particular stadium. I might even go to 'Nuts pregame party first, then hop a train home to watch the game.
