Good...bad...pros...cons? Are there any other places anyone would recommend?
We have serious RV plans for the UGA game with some friends from Georgia. No kids will be with us.
I appreciate any help.

That is where the majority of MSU and visiting RVs will be parked now.

It is ******** that you have to park there to begin with. I have been parking my RV on campus for years and got moved to the Vet building this season. Most of the folks in the RV lot where I parked have been parking there for 15-20 years and paying damn good money for those spots. Now it is just for car parking with just a few spots for those that had hook ups.

And before anyone says it: It is total ******** to say the RVers don't spend money on campus. That is a complete myth.

South of the old Sack and Save building on Lincoln Green Street. Lot costs are $47,500 each. There are around 16 left of the 42 planned.

In previous years, this space has been for MSU fans that didn't buy a season RV pass, and visiting fans.

With the new parking situation, this area is now RV season pass parking. All single game RV spots and visiting fans will have to be out at the Horse Park.

They relocated almost all of the RVs by the Hump out to this area.

Talked with someone last night and they said, "$750 for this year move to new park next year. In after 7 PM Thursday out by 7 AM Monday"

There is a minimum size RV required to park in the new park they are building.I think it is around 32 feet or so. Most of the RVers that I have know of that have boughta spot drive rigs that cost $500K and up soI think the word "upscale" is appropriate in this case. This is not going to be Cousin Eddy's mobile home park.</p>

project manager and there won't be any low end stuff parking in those lots. He indicated it was going to be a first class setup.

at 47k a spot I can confirm there will be no broke asses parking in that area. Just wish I could find another 45k and get me one for my 34' jalopy. Property values would surely go down when I moved in.

...a damn RV lot in that location. Our brilliant city leaders can tell us we cant cut down trees on our OWN property, can tell us we HAVE to wear helmets while ridfing bikes, CANT pass a mofo budget, they turn DOWN a multi-million dollar development, yet in the infinate wisdom, they allow a friggin trailer park. I jave friends with RV's and enjoy taking trips. We have never parked one in the middle of downtown. Idiots!!

...that the guy that lobbies hardest for the ability to maintain the right to parkbroken down pieces of **** in the Lounge is the one bitching hardest about a facility to park motorcoaches, all of which are $250K or more, with a few coming in at a cool $1.2 mil?

And since when is the wooded area between Corky's and College Station the "middle of downtown"?

Check out www.fqrv.com. I'm not sure how it will compare to whatever the one is Starkville is called, but I bet it will be similar based on what I've seen about the project.

So I Guess I'm out of the upscale lot with my pop-up camper painted black with the red 3 on the side, it's not 32 feet! haha

Yes, God forbid we ruin that scenic area behind the old Sac-N-Save. The bins full of old, wet cardboard boxes were a sight to behold.

First of all, there is a big difference between what they are proposing to build there and a "trailer park". That's the first poor assumption that most are making.

Secondly, what else would you propose to be developed on this plot of land? When I found out where it was going, my first thought was "sort of a ****** location". Regradless of what they do, it's smack in the middle of the *** end of an oldshopping center and a notorious apartment complex. Would you frequent an establisment where to one side you have grease basins, trash receptacles, and liquor boxes, and on the other 18-19 year olds doing keg stands? Fencing will only do so much.

I'll agree, I think it would have been better served further out Blackjack Road based on my aformentioned thoughts. But to imply that this will be an eyesore on the community is ridiculous. It's in a poor location that I think would have otherwise gone undeveloped short of razing the old shopping center. Out of all the things the City of Starkville has approved/not approved, this decision is far from the worst we've seen.

Edit: Furthermore, I'll concede that the LFL reference had no real basis in the argument and was included solely to get your goat. You seem as animately against this as your are for the LFL (as you should be). I just don't understand your strong feelings against the RV resort.
